This is why he was named "Muscle" and not "Brains"

Warning: Spoilers
How dumb can a character be? Watch this episode and find out.

So, Muscle/Joe's whole plan to protect Jules and the kids was to wait for killers to get into the house before telling them to leave? If you know they're at risk, get them out FIRST.

Then he's so upset by this and apparently spooked by the surprising presence of police at a train station that he leaves without retrieving his money and only weapon--and how suspicious looking is it, when you see the police watching you, to stop suddenly and turn around?

Then his brilliant plan (and he's already established a record of poor planning) was to use Officer's phone to lure the assassin with Azar as bait--by having her sit on a bench out in the open where 1) anyone walking by can see, and 2) it's blindingly obvious that it's a trap. The assassin, who apparently has a functioning brain, sees that it looks wrong and presumably sets things in motion to trigger the trap.

Muscle, who clearly knew that things have gone wrong, apparently takes NO precautions and leads the assassin right back to everyone--which still happens even though they got right into the car and the assassin needed time to get to his. And Muscle just leaves his weapon sitting around, so that he's again unarmed when the assassin starts killing Specialist.

And Muscle takes his time to respond; if he'd acted more quickly he'd have been able to save her. If the excuse was that he didn't have a weapon and needed to be cautious and come up with a plan, well... he simply walks right out, once the assassin has taken time slowly killing Specialist.

After being saved by Azar, he just asks a few questions of the captured assassin, and somehow thinks it'll work if he says "pretty please don't kill us" before losing his cool and killing their ONE lead towards who's after them. For someone they've shown as a killer, he's acting like some random guy suddenly caught up in violence like he's never seen before.

Presuming Joe survives he's the least deserving character to come out of it.
