Sequels are inevitable in porn (as well as mainstream films these days) but Sean Michaels' followup to EVIL CUCKOLD is stale. Judging from the trailers I believe his simpler-premise HOSE HOE'S series stands a better chance of longevity.
Formula is to have Sean, vanity production-style wearing different hats and costumes, act as the cuckold for four hapless white husbands. It's done with a fake, wink-wink approach, where the husbands protest but actually enjoy seeing the interracial sex with their better half, either joining in the action or masturbating voyeuristically.
This is all a thinly-disguised metaphor for the target audience out there in video-land, white males who get off on watching big-cock interracial sex. The "married" angle is superfluous.
Sean makes one big error here in having just two actors, Gabriel and Bob (both returning from the first edition) play the four white male roles. It underscores the phony and pointless nature of the exercise, unlike the original where the viewer could imagine four guys being humiliated.
A telling moment in the "Behind the Scenes" extra has Sean lecturing his leading lady on how important it is to get her dialog right, as the vignette (a dumb Wild West episode involving sheriff Sean and a mail order bride from Mongolia, played tastelessly of course by a Caucasian actress) should be like a "real" movie. He catches himself, and says, "what we're doing is real, I meant like a mainstream movie". The gap between such porn intentions and the poor results is glaring here.
The sequel's actresses are not as pretty nor as voluptuous as in the original -besides the new talent there is the casting of 52-year-old Nina Hartley, in her 28th consecutive year of performing in porn. She doesn't get star billing or much attention on the DVD box -it was sad to see her reduced to "merely making a living", via anal & interracial sex scenes, after so many years at the top of her profession. I didn't find her forced performance (ultra-fake simulated passion and "pain" -of the anal variety) stimulating and perhaps it is time for her to hang 'em up.
Oddest credit was Fred J. Lincoln as editor - I see he's keeping busy, one of the few original XXX pioneers still active in the biz, though no longer an auteur.
