Send Nat back or chill her out!
mike-hickey-875-7850785 November 2022
One reviewer said Sarah is insufferable but she ain't got nothing on Nat!

And no...it has nothing to do with race but everything to do with the worst attitude I've had the misfortune of having to endure while watching a show that I enjoy. Enough already!

I mean, I get it, her mother (alt Lois) died a year ago but she's pretty much always rude and rarely ever positive. She has disrespected Lois, Clark (Superman), Sarah and to even her own father, just to name a few.

Either she needs to seriously tone down the tired, rude teen angst persona or repair her little ship, get in it and return to where she came from!

Other than that, very good episode!

First truly awesome episode this season
salabama911 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Seeing the constantly dropping ratings I think I'm not the only one who is disappointed with this season however this episode finally delivered on every front. It's just a little too late, since we only have a few episodes left. (Did they ever announce how long this season will be? I guess it's 13/15 episodes).

My only issue is that Superman flying in the portal felt quite reckless. There must be a story why they needed an episode - mostly - without Tyler Hoechlin present, because it felt rushed and it would had made more sense if it happened at the end of the previous episode.

I wonder if the are setting up the exit of Eric Valdez. I have a feeling that. Kyle will end up moving to another town at the end of the season.

I still think that Steel diserves his own spin-off.

This season really lacks a strong main villain. Ally has potencial but she was never really treated as a character, she is basically just a plot device.

I really like that the show seems to distance itself from the already dying Arrowverse. If there were dozens of other heroes out there Superman's disappearance wouldn't had such a huge effect. This Superman really works better as the world's only hero. Also he's been around for more than 20 years. I would like to think that his actions had an effect on the world. Like last season he flew to Mexico to stop a bank robbery, I think the reason it happened there instead of Metropolis must be that the crime rates declined drastically thanks to his 20 years of service.

Anyway great episode. Once again I can't wait to see what comes next.

best episode ever
stuwright0530 March 2022
This was a great episode, the best ever, funnily enough superman was hardly in it lol, but his son took over, the quieter slower moments in this episode worked so well...as another person said the effects were very good too.

I really love the way jorden developing his powers and how he figure it out in a fight, and I think he will be a great superman one-day.

And the visual effects is so pretty ❤

I just can't get over the effects
terrylarosa30 March 2022
Which are better than most movies. Those two early scenes were extremely well done. This season just keeps ratcheting it up. And the drama. They packed enough drama in this ep to fill ten shows. Glad it's renewed because this is clearly one of the best shows on tv right now.. wow........those effects.......

Top of the Line Episode
wwkirk31 March 2022
A couple of characters elevated in exciting ways. Several plot threads brought to fruition. And an excellent set-up at the very end for the rest of the season.

As a 'Smallville' fan, I must say establishing this series in Clark's home town was a stroke of genius.

Fantastic. All the feels

Wow.

I usually don't review and rate episodes, but this episode brought multiple arcs and emotions with perfect execution.

Up to this point, the cinematography, music, and dialogue have been great.

Nat and John Henry's arc has been slow burning to this point. The presentation had me in tears.

The election coming to a decision was mixed in well with Kyle's struggles.

This episode feels like the one-off episode where all of the supporting characters gets to have their stories on full display and development.

I really enjoyed the build up and presentation of Jordan's developing powers.

I can go on - this is my favorite episode so far in the series.

Mmm, it feels dated
pauli_gomez3 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It made me think about Smallville several times, and not in a good way, but apart for that it was surprisingly good for an episode mostly without Superman.

I liked Jordan becoming a hero of his own. And Jonathan trying to do his best. I also understand most of the conflicts (like Lois not wanting Jordan to be at tisk or angry at her dad,) but sometimes it could have made better.

The things I liked the best: Nat, John-Herny and even Lois giving him good advice. Jordan facing his mom because he thinks he and her dad are doing the right thing, and I agree too. Lois spiralling was quite well done. And I am excited about Jordan's powers getting better.

The things I liked the less. I do not care for where Lana's husband is living or what he is doing. I barely care for Lana but his husband is too much. I also did not like that apparently there are no other superheroes in this world. It seems weird and wrong. And Jordan looks stupid just hiding his face with the hood. Just buy a generic mask or something. And even if you are busy, you can call Sarah. You can tell her that you need to go to Metropolis to take something to your dad or whatever. And if you really don't want to tell Sarah something like that, tell her that you really care for but have some things that you cannot say because they are not your secrets to share. But again, call her! At least show her that she is in your mind. I hope the writers use that to having Jordan appreciating more what his dad went throught his whole life.

But the thing that bother me more was General Lane and Lois apparently having forgottern about Lucy quite fast.

I also feel that Jon does not really understand the problem with what he did, and that he is not really sorr. I hope what happened in the end is well done in the next chapters.

I really want to like this show but...
Hei_Shibing4 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
... there's one person who ruins it for me: Sarah. She is a selfish, self-centred whiner, what with telling Jordan "I kissed someone and now I expect you to be friends with them" followed by "I'm breaking up with you since you haven't put me first". If this show were called "How to Cuckold a Male Before He's a Man" then perhaps Sarah's behaviour would be appropriate, but it isn't: it's called Superman & Lois. I hope they drastically reduce Sarah's screen time, or eliminate her altogether, because she is insufferable. Other than that (and the absence of SUPERMAN) this was a good episode, particularly seeing Jordan come into his powers.

Umm..... the baby??
TheDyingGirl30 March 2022
As a black person I am shooketh! I wish casting directors would do a better job when incorporating POC's into their storylines. Are they telling me that they couldn't find a biracial baby to play baby Natalie? At all ! That baby was clearly black. Bizarre!

WAAAAHHHHHH!
Pimilli1 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
You missed my waffles! WAAAAHHHH!

You missed my piano recital WAAAAAHHH!

It's unbearable man. Just unbearable.

I don't CARE about that infernal Lana election. It is unbearable. I don't CARE about Lana's family doing whatever it is they are doing.

Have I outgrown Superman or is this bad writing? I haven't outgrown Superman because Justice League animation show is good, comics are decent. So what is it?

Upvote if the issue is the writing. Downvote if it isn't. I wish there was a comment section so I could know what you think.

Minor season-break cliff-hanger
bosporan30 March 2022
Treading water with this episode without Superman. Some angst ridden teen relationship issues but nothing of substance except a low-key hook for next time.

Disappointing
Windrider611 April 2022
It's sad when people don't think being a drug dealer is as bad as causing the high school football team to cancel their season. I refuse to believe that being a drug dealer is "not that bad".

The worst episode of Superman so far
Sensei_Rebel31 March 2022
Straight out of Smallville with actors in their 20s doing cringey teen angst scenes that go on endlessly. I've officially had it with the garbage subplots on this show. I can't believer any comic fan is enjoying this at all. I couldn't care less about Superman's dopey sons who want to be the next Superboy.

Some things good/Some things not so good
arcturus-524078 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This was mostly a solid episode but it had some things that were meh. Some of the good things were that they managed to pull off an interesting story despite Superman only being in it for like, 2 minutes. I also like Jordan trying to step up for his missing dad (totally got Brightburn vibes when Jordan was arguing with Lois). Also love seeing Steel in action, just wish we got a more comic accurate look. Some of not so good things were Lois telling Jordan to stay in the car, then 30 seconds later, "Jordan! We need you!" Also Nat 😩 - this girl is angry about a new thing every episode, please send her back to space or something. Last thing was Supes flying thru a weird portal with no research or intel was kind of a reckless decision.

Unrelated side note - Lucy is hot.

30 Days and 30 Nights
Prismark1026 December 2022
The episode reminded me of Superman Returns, or what Metropolis was like when Superman was away for five years.

As Clark Kent follows Ally Allston through the portal. The world is without Superman.

Jordan tries to use his powers to save people. However he does not have the experience but does have a scolding mum. Lois Lane is not best pleased. He also gets dumped for not giving Sarah enough attention.

John Henry Irons also tries to do his best to save people. His brattish daughter Natalie is upset that he has forgotten the anniversary of her mother's death. She even made waffles from her favourite recipe.

I did find that the episode was treading water. It was unfocus and the Mayoral election is just not that interesting.
