The 1985 National Championship Series was a best of 7 game battle between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both teams were vying to go onto the World Series to get their chance to get a World Series trophy.

Each team would be starting one of their best starting pitchers with the Cardinals using Joaquin Andujar who was a 21 game winner that season against the Dodgers' Orel Hershiser who was a 19 game winner.
