I didn't think was a particularly good first episode, it was a little messy, and lacked any sort of focus, if would have been better if it focused on one of the trio, Maryam to be precise.
Parminder Nagra definitely steals this first episode, and that's perhaps one of the problems, she was perhaps too good for this role, overqualified so to speak. Maryam was the only one of the trio to be interesting.
I didn't care for Catherine or Helen, no issues with the acting, I just didn't like either character.
The worst issue, notice how every single male character is awful.....was there one positive man here? The answer is glaringly not.
Fortunately it does get a bit better, but episode one, was poor.
