Robert Shields- A brilliant talent that shaped modern culture.
docdodo18 March 2024
This story of the amazing life of Robert Shields (Shields and Yarnell), cultural icon known for his vivacious approach to physical comedy, street theatre, and brilliant improvisation on the level of Robin Williams, is a pure delight, not only for the historic portrait of an Artist driving the energy of a generation, but also for the pure heart, joy and humility he brings to this chronicle.

A deep exploration of a unique talent, and fine person, we follow the incredible highs and shattering lows of a life lived true to a dream, and the heartfelt loss that can bring.

Highly recommended for anyone in theatre, media, or the 'Poppin dance community.

Truly amazing story told by an honest and sincere performer. The genuine and original style he shows his audience is always inspiring. I remember those early days in San Francisco, and the huge crowds he would draw. Always a step ahead and a level up from any other street artists in my opinion. I recommend this film, I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did. Based on the opinions of others this film was long overdue. This story is pretty much about something we San Franciscans just adored about Robert Sheilds the Artist. Robert was iconic to the City. I cannot think of anyone not being amazed at the focus and talent he displayed when they stopped to watch him. He represents a piece of home to me and I'm sure many other people from San Francisco feel the same. Bravo to You , Robert.
