Rudy: the Half-Witted Enemy of Democracy
leftbanker-116 April 2023
First of all, he was never "America's mayor. I cringed every time they showed that banner. Just because he happened to be mayor of NYC on 9/11, doesn't make him anything but the mayor of NYC. He never really did anything besides not running around screaming in a panic. He got a lot of credit for no reason whatsoever, so enough about America's mayor. It was simply a nickname someone thought was catchy, probably a TV reporter.

Then he began sniffing up to Trump after Trump humiliated him on several occasions during the run-up to the 2016 election. Then came Trump's huge lies of election fraud in 2020, not one bit of his avalanche of filth had a shred of evidence and every sane person has washed their hands of the mess, everyone except Rudy the moron who has continued to embarrass himself again and again and will probably end up behind bars, just like his buddy, the ex-prez.

This series isn't all Anti-Giuliani as many praise his efforts against the mafia when he was the D. A. in NY, but he was mostly a creep. Now he's so disturbed that he probably needs professional help, or a prison cell--sort of the same thing.

oh rudy...

How did you become so prudy, and the puppet behind the punch and judy theater of the political realms of usa, lets talk about taking water upon his head, 1000 phatoms of it...

well im norwegian, and after watching this super unilateral enemistic bio-type of documentary making, well it couldnt have happened anywhere else in the world. In russia they wouldve shut their mouth, in iran they wouldve done ''the hangman''game, and in the eu system one would be drowned by the imensity of burocracy.

My first meet with mr guilianni was on the liveaction tvshow called 9/11, a man that trotted the ruins of world trade center or the leftovers, and had his world under his feet by his unafraid way of tackling a disaster in situ. I really admired the man but that was then... an unbelievable trench fall he went through in 2021 and 2022 trying to make america great again, ive no words for that...idiocracy maybe the best word to describe the donkeymanship of this sinking ship called ''uss trump''.

Enough digression...lets value this antirepublican cnn produced documentary for what it is, and as a sign of health of the american news media that has become tripolar upon itself, some bilateralisation wouldve helped...but most of all this 4 part series is a mini portrait of historic dimensions, not so much on rudys behalf, but on new yorks history. They could easily put 2 more episodes where they acclaim the benefits that new york had from mayor gulliani, just to make the downfall even bigger for the most right winged, because theyve made this to let them be GOP-smaked.

I enjoyed this biopic of a man and a city that have risen and fallen so many time, a bit more dual on the issues wood not have hurt the message, and now the grumpy old man question is...what will FOX come up with...i cant wait and in the meantime watch ''giuliani: what happened to america''.a recommend.

What happened, indeed.

Warning: Spoilers
It's not too difficult to see Giuliani for what he's become now, but the people old enough to remember him in NYC on 9/11 would find him unrecognizable. This doc series, much like the one from MSNBC, "When Truth Isn't Truth," exposes what's happened, and it isn't pretty. Giuliani has famously said that he doesn't care about his legacy because he'll be dead, and it seems as though he means that quite literally.

The spotlight is all he seems to care about, being in it, commanding it, and making sure that people know he deserves to be there. Unfortunately, I can't relate to that, and I don't think the vast majority of people can, despite the many "reality" shows where people insist on making fools of themselves in public. Rudy, like his buddy Trump, seem to LIVE for all of it. The downside to that is, of course, the scrutiny. And the scrutiny hurts, especially if your only reason for living is to be in the spotlight.

Rudy's story is a tragedy of Shakespearian proportions, but it is what he's chosen to do with his life and career. It's not for anyone else to make decisions for him, but it is a tragedy. As is said in the documentary, if he had stepped out of public life after his mayoral term in 2002, or after his unsuccessful run for president in 2008, when he dies, they would have named schools after him, maybe ball stadiums, maybe even LaGuardia would have become Giuliani Airport. But none of that will happen now. This documentary thoroughly and in a mostly non-partisan way, shows you why. Highly recommended.

This is not a documentary
dusadomovine2 May 2023
As happens far too often, this is not a documentary but a hatchet job - a character assassination - of Rudy Giuliani. This is all part of the left-wing campaign of character assassination against anyone that is a Republican/Conservative and connected to Trump. The Democrats have become experts of the KGB strategy of destroying the reputations of people that they deemed enemies of the state..

Yes there is a foundation of truth but the spin of facts creates something that is far from reality. Propaganda like this must stop.

The show in ep 4 mentions Hunter Biden "earning money from some Ukrainian company". Why do they not tell the whole truth - hunter Biden sat on a board of directors and was earning at times $50,000 per month.
