Best finale ever
famyarn18 October 2023
So well written, so well acted, everything was wonderful! Thank you, Lindsay Sturman, for bringing back the show to rights. This is the Hope Valley we know and love, and finally, our beloved heroine has come back to herself.

I love the storyline with Henry and where they took it. Redemption at its finest.

I love Lucas and the new exciting storyline they gave him. On to bigger and better things, but I'm sure he'll keep one foot in Hope Valley to spice it up. He's a great character, and best when he's mysterious and adding that spice he's so good at.

The Coulters were wonderful this season too, and the dedication was just too good. Loved Henry and Joseph there, too. Words we could all learn from.

And wow, Little Jack sitting with Nathan and Allie. Is there anything more beautiful?

Okay, maybe only that scene between Nathan and Elizabeth. Because. Holy. Cow. They only have to look at each other, from six feet away, and we are all swooning. And it was enough. Absolutely. Enough. To get us all on the hook for next season.

Not one touch, not a kiss, not even a single word of devotion. Just the way he says her name. Lizbeth. And the way they look at each other. Her sigh. Their gaze. And we are all onboard. Hearts aflame for S11. Bring it on!

Natebeth for the win.

Back to the roots and heart of the show
debbiech18 October 2023
What a season! An absolute joy to see the show find its way back to its roots. It got lost there for a couple of seasons. But we have a new writer who is bringing back faith, community and heart to Hope Valley. Characters I recognize now! Every story was so thoughtfully done. The season finale had all the feels. It made me laugh. It made me cry. It got me very stressed out and nervous lol all I can say is that Rosemary makes you laugh constantly. Henry had the most beautiful arc. There are some beautiful moments throughout this entire episode. And a bunch of cliffhangers! I cannot wait to see what season 11 brings. So grateful to have my show back where it belongs.

Disappointed!
cpack-4489118 October 2023
I am really disappointed in the last couple of episodes they have been horribly written totally changed all the characters and their beliefs. Elizabeth has been made into a Selfish, can't make a commitment, can't make up her mind, she has played with all the men's hearts Jack's Nathans Lucas and then when she chose Lucas it was pure and most heartfelt. When she is with Nathan it's more friends he has shifty eyes he's weird they don't mesh. She will have to tell little Jack that Nathan was supposed to go on the training but got in trouble and couldn't go so his dad went and then he died but he has Nathan.

Returned to its roots
mdrozdowski16 October 2023
WCTH is WCTH again. It was "tinkered" with the last two seasons and strayed from its roots. Glad to be able to watch my favorite show again. I haven't watched in two years. The new show runner apparently did her homework when she binge watched the previous seasons and it shows. Never in a million years did I think the show could redeem itself from the damage that John Tinker inflicted, yet here we are. I'm so happy. If you're a departed Heartie like I was, come back to the fold. This season has been the best season I can remember having seen in a very long time. Beautiful story set to rights. Well done.

What happened to this show?

Warning: Spoilers
I personally love When Calls the Heart from the very beginning, that even if I paid extra cable, so I can watch it again and again, even bought DVD ´s for my collection, but I can't bring myself to ré-watch this Season 11. It is completely different from the rest of the previous season. I feel like, body snatchers have abducted Elizabeth and replaced a completely different one! It is sad that all the love she gave to Lucas from season 9, has been erased!

What is going on with this show? It points out to a different direction. A possibility that Elizabeth will go to Nathan? Is this a joke!!!!!

Hope Valley at its very best
Sar-8359919 October 2023
The writing this season was just phenomenal, as well as the acting, the direction, all the way to the top. Wow. I am just absolutely blown away. Thank you to everyone involved, cast and crew, directors, show runner, who just made this season the best season yet.

This episode had so many touching moments. And wow, that break up scene last episode was just heart-wrenching. Erin Krakow and Chris McNally just shone, in fact, I think it was the best performance I've ever seen out of Chris. He was phenomenal.

Which makes me slightly shocked to see some of the negative reviews here. He had such an incredible journey this season, was given a hero's journey, a powerful and wonderful redemptive arc, and was thrust into the light and into his destiny. He's becoming the hero he was always meant to be, and it was so beautiful. How can you complain just because he what, broke up with the main character? He himself wanted to go on to bigger and better things. Life thrust him forward, and he responded by a yes, the very definition of a hero. And seemed to be at peace about it, in his heart. Can't paths diverge, if that's the story, and your character is better off for it? I would have expected true fans to be raving about his performance and his storyline. Even Chris McNally, himself, has done nothing but rave about Lucas' story, he is very happy about it, prefers playing characters who are "savvy" and spice things up. So I don't get the negativity.

But, I for one, loved the way Elizabeth finally seemed to face a new layer of grief, and moved through it, to the truth in her heart.

And wow, that cliffhanger. Just so well done and so smart. Leaves us eager for more and excited about next season. Can't wait!

Thank you, Hope Valley, for being a wonderful place of community and love, truth, and always excitement.

Lost me as a viewer
cutie_h1317 October 2023
This is not the same show I fell in love with 9 years ago. This season was all over the place and none of the characters felt authentic. I felt like I was in the twilight zone each episode. The showrunners have become greedy and don't care about the quality of the writing or the moral compass of the show anymore. It's all about "shock factor" and doing anything they can to create buzz about the show/ratings. Even if that means the fans are harshly divided and against each other. Lucas and Elizabeth were a beautiful love story. The perfect follow up to the Jack and Elizabeth romance we all adored. Now it's all been dismantled along with the integrity of the characters.

Warning: Spoilers
As a long-time viewer from S1, I couldn't watch S9 after the show jumped the shark. I heard on social media halfway through S10 that the show seemed to be returning to its roots. After finding out Elizabeth & Lucas ended their engagement in E11, I decided to watch the finale live (1st time since S8E12). It felt like coming HOME to my happy place in Hope Valley! Love that the faith & forgiveness element has been brought back. Enjoyed the community pulling together, Pastor Joseph speaking at the christening, seeing the school children, Lucas winning & the magnetism between Elizabeth & Nathan! Looking forward to more of their journey to #GrantUsAFamily! Well done, writing team!

Wow! Season 10 was amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
Thank you to the writers and the new showrunner for this wonderfully written season. Every episode had me looking forward to the next. It is so nice to see the people of Hope Valley so community oriented this season with all of the togetherness portrayed over the season. The scenes with Elizabeth and Nathan were just beautiful and so heartfelt. I loved seeing so much of Elizabeth with her students and just seeing more of the children in general. The scenes of Elizabeth at Jack's grave were, to me, very touching. Little Jack asking questions about his father brought tears to my eyes and seeing him in Jack's hat was a scene that just melts the hardest of hearts. I am so excited for season 11 and am looking forward to Elizabeth and Nathan's relationship deepen. They love each other and belong together. I sure hope we don't have to wait too long.

Central Storyline Zapped
mishylouise16 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
To erase the storyline of the featured couple of seasons 6-10, while still promoting as if the featured couple is still central is beyond manipulative.

Many key characters no longer ring true given central stories were altered in dismantling key storylines of several seasons. Elizabeth is barely recognizable, Lucas being 're-written' assumed all sorts of characteristics for him, like desire for a bigger stage, that character had stated, and shown, to be the opposite of his goals. Seasons had focused on Elizabeth moving through grief, choosing to say 'yes' to sharing marriage, co-parenting her child, and building a new life.

Very disappointing that a sledge hammer was taken to that show direction stated by executives.

Hopeful and excited for season 11!
mazdamom-9378616 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I stopped watching WCTH after the season 8 finale. I was utterly disappointed and decided not to watch anymore. Didn't watch season 9 and only after learning that season 10 episodes were indicating that Elizabeth was pulling away from Lucas and showing feelings for Nathan, I watched the last few episodes of 10. At the end of 8, I never thought WCTH could put the pieces back together and get E and N's beautiful love story back on track. But now I feel so hopeful and excited for season 11.

I know the Elizabeth and Lucas fans feel very let down and puzzled by the way this season ended, but that's exactly how those of us that love Elizabeth/Nathan together felt when season 8 ended. It made no sense then, but the writers effectively helped convey that Elizabeth's fears are what moved her toward Lucas, that he was the safe choice. I keep hoping that the plaque hanging in the library that Nathan gave Elizabeth will be what helps affirm her realization that Nathan is who she belongs with.

One of the worst finales I've seen in a while!
lsuachang18 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What happen to this show? This whole season has been wanting for any real storylines. Who drags a grief striken Elizabeth for the whole season, for her to then makes a clear decision that her heart is no longer with Lucas but with Nathan? That must be the first time in WCTH history that E hasn't dragged her feelings about a man including Jack that quickly. This is no longer the sweet, wise, loving and compassionate Elizabeth. This is now a cold, calculated, two-faced, unloving, meddling and gossip girl Elizabeth.

Unfortunately, they made her unlikeable that she is now seen as a tarty widow that lures in red surge Mounties. If you like that sort of thing, then of course you will enjoy it. I wanted Nathan to have a good storyline, but to regress back to this triangle storyline is old and tiring. Those that want to move on are again stuck in a twilight zone and not progressing these characters. Not good and pathetic if you ask me.

Welcome Back Home!

I want to thank the new showrunner and the fantastically talented ensemble that gave us Season 10! You did an AMAZING job! I feel like Hope Valley and the community are back to where they were prior to Season 8. Thank you for going back and truly finding out who the characters truly are/were and showing us that once again! I've missed that immensely! I'm really looking forward to Season 11 and the thoroughly thought out and well written stories you have to tell in it!!! If Season 11 is anything like Season 10 was, I'm hoping we get many more seasons to come too! Be blessed and continue to be the blessing you all are!

Very disappointing
lil-0112616 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The new showrunner has completely retcon'd the storyline and ignored the previous narrative from S8&9. It's like they never happened. I realize this is supposed to be Elizabeth's story, but the nonchalant way the whole town reacted to the break up was disturbing. In addition, Elizabeth let her students believe that Lucas was the one who did the breakup. Not true. So many characters are portrayed differently than last season, especially Elizabeth. Lucas is portrayed as clueless about what's going on, but he sacrifices his own happiness to save the town that now couldn't care less about him. Heartbreaking end. So it seems that the story will go back to the Mountie. Talk about regressing. The one bright spot was Henry's story. That was beautiful. During the baptism, Joseph welcomed the new baby into the community, but I guess Lucas had to be discarded in order to do that.

Coming Home
mhuether-1099818 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Congratulations to the cast crew and everyone involved with S10 of When Calls the Heart. After hearing good things from my WCTH friends that I connect with daily, I actually watched this episode. The first since S8. Congratulations particularily to Lindsay Sturman and Peter DeLuise on this episode.

I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more interaction between Nathan and Elizabeth. But then someone pointed out that the episode was full of them. Their kids were together or they were shown with the other's child. Even when apart, they were talking about each other. Elizabeth was shown looking at the Mountie office and even going there looking for him. The way is being paved for them to come home to each other. And the scenes they did have together... it took me watching the ending scene several times to see all of the nuances and implications of them being drawn to the same place at the same time. The words spoken and unspoken. The expressions, the conversation without words. Then to see them leaving the spot, not heartbroken like they did in S8, but together. On the same path. That is everything. They weren't ready for more. Even if I'm ready to see them married living their life together.

I haven't liked Lucas since the first time I saw him in S6 E6 where he's bragging about being a gambler. That identity stuck with me and I'm glad that it was brought forward again this season in a Hope Valley way. I'm still not sure what I think about it because I haven't heard about or seen those beginning E10 episodes in detail. But I can say that I am delighted that Lucas has found his calling. I'm so happy for him and hope for good things romantically for him as well. Hopefully with Fiona. Well, once the sadness of things not working out with Elizabeth lessens.

I'm happy to be back home, watching WCTH on screen, along with my reading all kinds of variations in fanfiction.

Arc completions and Cliff Hangers
teresawhitehead-6616318 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Satisfying completion of several story arcs with Henry's redemption, the Colter's baby story with christening, Joseph following his calling as a paster and the breakup of Elizabeth and Lucas (even though painful for many viewers) which was handled in a thoughtful, caring manner with them both realizing it was for the best. Then the cliff hangers: who was waiting for Lucas? What happens to Lucas causing Bill to get Elizabeth and Nathan? Will Abigal be in Season 11 and will she and Henry have a romance? And will Elizabeth finally do what she is afraid to do and let herself be with Nathan? Season 11 should be filled with lots of new stories!

Abandoned show's wholesome nature
katesshows18 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I will not be watching this show again. When Calls the Heart, and shows on Hallmark in general, are supposed to be uplifting, plausible romances. Unfortunately, this season, little of that was true, and none was the case in the lead storylines.

The writers chose to unceremoniously, incongruously end an established romance between the lead character, Elizabeth, and Lucas.

To divert the storylines, the character traits of numerous characters were inexplicably altered. Mei is now meek. Fiona is less gutsy, and less involved in town affairs; Mike more so. Faith was unsure of herself. Joseph offered little moral guidance to members of his flock straying from their truths. Lucas abandoned his much-professed life ambitions for politics. Elizabeth waffled over her love life and the "triangle" concocted in S6 (which fans were told was over in S8 when she chose Lucas and subsequently became engaged to him) was seemingly resurrected.

The executive producers and writers of this show have irreparably damaged the storyline, character arcs, premise, and fanbase of this show. What was meant to uplift, now causes division and heartbreak (which if you read interviews with these folks, you realize was intentional - the rift amongst the fanbase over the triangle was intentional, as was this recent 180 meant to pander to those who preferred the unchosen suitor). What was meant to be a romance has is now a representation of a fickle, indecisive woman breaking her vows and commitments to an honorable man. What was meant to be a family show is now a depiction of inexplicable familial brokenness, with parental figures ripped away from young kids and adults engaging in 'friendships' that border on infidelity.

This show has so grossly moved away from its wholesome, uplifting roots that it is sadly unrecognizable now. What a tragic end to a wonderful series.

What a great way to end the season amazing season 10!!!! Can't wait for season 11 and hopefully 12 and so on!!! I Can say it was a good episode even tho some parts I found were boring the Madeline and bill part we didn't need that I wanted more Elizabeth and Nathan!!!!! Can't believe it's happening E & N can't wait to see it all unfold!!! Season 11 can't wait. This show feels like home again the writing was amazing this season and can say that wow the tension between Elizabeth and Nathan was very so strong and so exciting!!! And to talk about the jaw dropping Henry showing up to Abigail's house whatttt Omgg is she coming back??? And the final moments between Nathan and Elizabeth at the I love spot so full circle moment but bill really interrupted something. Well more of that conversation will hopefully be continued into season 11.

Wow!!
jennyelaine-0368516 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This has been one of the best seasons of the entire show. The writers really outdid themselves! There were so many real to life moments in this season - Rosemary giving birth to Goldie was SO emotional, and then the exhaustion she and Lee dealt with later with having a newborn was so relatable. The grief that Rosemary went through for her mother made me think of my grandmother - her mother also died when she was a child, and even though she couldn't remember her, she always missed her mother being in her life. As for Elizabeth and Lucas, I feel like the writers did the right thing. Even though I always liked Lucas, I never felt that he and Elizabeth were suited for each other. I also understood why they broke up - their lives took different paths, and Elizabeth didn't want to follow his. That's LIFE. Sometimes, even though you love someone, you have to say goodbye because it's for the best. I just really appreciate how the writers and creators took out a lot of the fairytale "cheesiness" and made this show more like real life. The actors did a FABULOUS job this season, too! During the emotional scenes, I felt everything they were feeling. Great job to you all!! I can't wait for season 11!

Worst Season So Far
swbjxz19 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Other than the death of Jack, Seasons 1-9 were a joy to watch. I was shocked and saddened as I watched the breakup of Lucas and Elizabeth in episode 11 of season 10. With Season 9 ending with the very tender and loving engagement of Lucas and Elizabeth , viewers expected a wedding in Season 10. The once very strong Elizabeth became insecure and so out of character. Granted she always valued Rosemarys advice, she should have talked to Lucas and Pastor Joseph about what was going on inside her head. Season 9 was destroyed in 2-3 minutes at the train station. Elizabeth and the townspeople basically forced Lucas into running for the governorship and at the last minute she yanked her love and support from him. Poor Lucas' head must have been spinning while on the train. I just can't believe that someone actually got paid to write Season 10.

Best Season Ever
thebuzz-218 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The new show runner returned all the characters back to who they were before S8-S9. It's now a clean, wholesome show with faith and values. Those who didn't care for it are likely CM fans. CM himself is happy to be given a new storyline. Regardless it's always been Nathan. All the other characters have returned to their former selves. The episodes aren't all over the place and disjointed. If anyone watched S1-S7 they'd see S8-S9 were the seasons that made no sense. Thank you to the new show runner for returning this show to its roots. I can now let my niece watch it without all the extra kissing.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm so happy the show is back to how it used to be!! Heartwarming, community-focused, it's all about faith, forgiving and kindness.

The teacher is teaching again, the Mountie is a Mountie again, the saloon owner starts a promising political career, Rosemary gets to be a Mom (finally!!), the preacher is doing his preacher thing... like everyone is back to where they're supposed to be.

Season 8 was so awful, I didn't even watch Season 9, now I'm slowly catching up on S10 and hallelujah for this new show runner! She took everyone in Hope Valley back home! <3.

I'm very much looking forward to Season 11!

well written season compared to s8 & s9, will watch again s11
margaretyong-9454119 October 2023
S8 & 9 was so horribly written - disjointed and they changed the character of the heroine and hahaha hot air balloon etc was really unbelievable.. bad acting and directing with E's whiny voice, just stopped watching s9 and just followed on IG s10 was opposite, first 5-6 episode was a bit boring but the story really picked up. The story was not so disjointed anymore and they actually linked the story like the aunt agatha's visit to Lucas decision for bigger stage. E finally faced her fears and admitted to Rosemary.

Well written season and hope more good story will follow. The new showrunner did her homework!

What happened to the heart.
joanlonginojones-1541520 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched this show everyday from the beginning. It has literally been on my TV everyday for years until season 10. The stories aren't heart warming, inspirational or leave a feel good feeling. The story is about Elizabeth and her journey, but I have never seen the character being so heartless. Her choice of her mate is hers, but Lucas has never hurt her or the town. He has gone above and beyond for Elizabeth and the town, yet no one thought enough of him to stand by him. That's not how the unity of the show normally would act. The town people seem to have become Stepford wives. Henry's story was the only one that gave me the warmth that I looked for. The show doesn't feel family friendly anymore. Then to think she decided to choose a man who indirectly and directly caused LJ to loose his biological father and further stepfather is unrealistic. To imply that Lucas was immature and not a good father and even implying he isn't good for the town with all the sacrifices he made. So disappointed. Jeanette Oke's writing is not like this, that's an insult to her.

Honestly, A Great Return!
bvidez19 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Season was one of the best written ones, not because I prefer E&N, but simple because it was cohesive and coherent when compared to S7&8. The new SR should be applauded for having the courage to change the stupid "canon" and "retcon" TL keeps talking about. Simply, the show was boring with E&L and the ratings tanked but because many TL and others are unhappy in their own lives, they project their wants onto a fictional character. Thus, the hatred and vitriol towards Elizabeth who was once their darling. The finale was exactly as it should be so I advise WATCH THE SHOW AND IGNORE THE NOISE...
