"O Bolo" ("The Cake") gives us a mixture of crazed elements with the story of a housekeeper Fabiula Nascimento) who gets her wild side shown to her attractive
boss (Eriberto Leão) and the building's doorman (Flavio Bauraqui) after eating a special cake. Typical stuff from more recent times, you probably know what's in the
special cake, which also affects other characters on a previous day during a birthday party where shyness was left aside and the party got wilder as the night went on.
The situations are well-made and well-established, the movie manages to become funnier as the events progress and everybody's quite comfortable in their roles with the obvious highlight to Fabiula as the religious worker who gets completely changed with lust and desire for the men around her. Tim Maia songs covered by Marisa Monte made the short a special treat as well.
During the end credits it is mentioned that the short would be made into a feature film with the same characters and with more situations. There's plenty of elements to be explored with the concept but a decade later and we're still waiting for the movie. Until then, enjoy this hilarious piece cos it's lots of fun. 9/10.
