Another short horror gem!

Yes! This. Was. Good. I wish I could post a spoiler review but I'd rather just post a recommendation. The log line tells you what you need to know and what a terrifying premise it is. The performances here are solid, especially from the lead character. You really believe that this is happening. The cinematography adds to the growing sense of dread.

I enjoyed this so much I'm giving it an eight.

A tight little nugget...
MrGKB28 December 2018
...straight from the E.C. Comics playbook, "Luna" sports its expertise on all fronts. Solid acting and directing, art direction, score, camera-wrangling, the whole nine yards. Most of all, the bedrock of a good film: the script. Let's hope this Perez guy keeps at it. Caught this one via Screamfest, easily available on YouTube.

Edge of the seat Horror Shorty!
ursamajorofficial11 July 2015
Gunslinger murdering the family of an innocent young girl before her eyes, could something be more sinister than that?

Though I tend to be critical about these shorties, this one was a surprisingly exceptional experience. What I liked in particular, were:

#1. Top notch cinematography. #2. Great acting. #3. Subtle hints of the upcoming twist. #4. Just the right amount of gore. #5. Intriguing suspense. #6. Helluva twisted climax.

Furthermore, this short film has an exceptionally mature tone, unlike Lights Out, Suckablood(quite good though), which tend to be sort of childish in a way.

One of my personal favorites. Rating: 3.5/5

Recommended.

P.S. What does the moon remind you of?

Some nice ideas and execution, well-executed

Warning: Spoilers
"Luna" is an American 12-minute live action short film from 2013 and at this point the most recent credit for writer and director Antonio Perez, which is a bit of a pity as I clearly see his vision and talent in here and I hope he returns to filmmaking soon. Despite the mostly Hispanic cast, this is an English-language movie, but then again there isn't really too much language in here with the exception of start and ending. The two lead actors did a really good job I'd say and the twist at the very end felt satisfying as you knew from the traces of blood in the house that some dark secret was hidden there too. But the supernatural reference makes a compelling crime thriller even better eventually. A gritty and atmospheric little film that has me close to including it in my personal list of best short films 2013. The cop I did not really need as the moment she gets there is also a bit unrealistic, but it is made up by the "kill all of you" quote that indirectly explains the murderer's motives already and the exact reason we find out a minute later. This was really well done. Unless you hate the genre, I highly recommend checking this one out.

Effective, Brief Horror Film
geitner24 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
A killer has systematically killed a family living in a remote house in the southwest .... with one exception .... the youngest daughter.

But when he enters the basement where she is hiding, setting out to finish the job, he makes some puzzling finds: an assortment of news articles nailed to the wall reporting local killings and disappearances and a hidden room with dried blood on the floor, and shackles attached to the wall.

Has he been killing a family of serial killers? Or is the girl, perhaps, violently insane? Is the killer on some kind of mission? What's going on?

Beautiful cinematography, a story with a lot of momentum, and nearly wordless visual story-telling.

Oh .... and there is a twist that caught me by surprise.

the twist

It is the lead motif for see this short film. Not exactly for itself but for the impeccable craft. A film about a girl, her dead family, a stranger and a cop. The atmosphere, the tension, the great use of details, the cinematography and the air of South who you almost feel. A little gem, for details more than for the story itself. And a wise twist.
