- The Tribal Chief is executed off camera, with a shower of coloured dust

- A boy is kicked from a ship to fall hundreds of feet to his death in a dramatic scene that might disturb young viewers he does not die, instead he flies
- A small boat is attacked by a giant crocodile at night in a prolonged, tense, scene in which a main character is dragged into the deep, dark water. He is rescued and survives
- Blackbeard is intended to be a scary villain, though, for the most part he isn't that imposing. During a dreamlike sequence, however, he is portrayed as a black cloud with glowing eyes that could frighten young viewers when he kills the main character's mother.
