This series is surely going to be the best ever for Indian TV.
shol414923 July 2014
Yudh, a perfect TV show for the off-beat Indian audience who prefers class over typical Bollywood masala.

Amitabh with his great facial expressions is best so far, he is playing an honest builder surrounding with corrupt builders and officials. The show is dark and intense. Everything is happening at a perfect pace with no time for random drama which we usually see in most of the Indian Television shows. All six episodes till now, were directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who doesn't have a big name in the industry. But, with this work he is surely going to get many projects in the future. The most interesting part associated with this series is Anurag Kashyap. He has this talent of making drama and thriller more intense with his input.

Although I believe, they should have invested more in the advertisements because people are not very much aware of this.

Overall, this is what Indian Television viewers needed, enough of daily soaps now.

Psychological thriller that keeps growing on you
sandy8012 August 2014
To start with I would say that I was not very excited about this series. I usually don't watch TV series, especially typical Indian daily soap (Saas bahu drama). I thought it was an attempt to market average content using BigB's name. But just for name sake I gave it a chance and started watching from the second episode. I continued it with watching 3-4 too and I soon realized it was not an average TV serial. It's dark for an Indian TV show. Almost every scene drives the story forward without any melodrama. Characters are very real and believable, not to mention backed by some high quality performance one does not get to see in TV series. A great psychological thriller where politics and rivalries feel real and dirty. If you are planning to follow this series my suggestion would be to give it a chance and watch the first few episodes (at-least first 4), then only real plot and depth of story is revealed. Watching just one or two episodes you might just dismiss it with nothing special. One great thing I like about the series is that almost every character gets good screen time accompanied with their own stories which blend well with the original plot. Before starting to watch the series I thought it would be all about AB in every scene and how heroically he faces every situation. Thank god the series is so different from that. Each character comes out as hero in their own right. My personal favorites are performances from Zakir Hussain (Anand) and Aahana Kurma (Taruni). Do watch this series and you would soon realize you have not made a wrong choice.

Terrific and On the spot
rajkafunda24 July 2014
I feel the most of the critics lack the sense that it is a Drama series. First i thought "is it a copy of Beaking bad" as it seemed like with he promos. I will never watch the 24 which is being shooted with Anil Kapoor as it is an exact copy of the USA Version. But i believed in Anurag Kashyap and decided to watch the show. And he is again on the spot, impressed me. As it is not a sci-fi series i leave the thinking on the side and like to flow with the story with Acting and direction.

Some points to viewers Don't leave the show in between i watched it till 6 and expect more now.

Some point to Directors Remove the joker as many people left the show because of that.

Other than that I believe if the producers are happy more of such shows should be made.

Yudh - A Desperately Needed Refreshing Show on Indian Television
iamaffie2 August 2014
Who better to get the desperately needed change on Indian TV amidst loony Saans-bahu shows, than Amitabh Bachchan himself.

Although the series begins with a slow pace, it quickly engrosses its viewers in fast gripping, puzzle like thriller drama.

I have never witnessed a better casting on TV than Yudh's Cast. Every single person on show makes their role believable to the T. No over the top acting, No excess make up, no 'you must be kidding me' expressions.

A special mention to Mona Wasu, Aahana Kumra and Zakir Hussain, perfect choice and they deliver great performances.

And this comes as no surprise that Amitabh Bachchan excels once again, as he said in one of the episodes ' unless you don't challenge yourself, set new targets/tasks you can't change the Game. Amitabh Bachchan is indeed a Game Changer.

I must warn you that once you have started watching YUDH it's hard to pause. You want to go on to unveil the mystery.

Watch it for it's amazing plot line, for it's perfect direction, outstanding performances. Most of all watch it to see why Amitabh is and will always be the Legend.

The Legend can still pack a punch
connecttoaakash15 August 2014
We live in a country where stupid and meaningless 'Saas-Bahu' serials have been ruling the roost on small screen for nearly a decade an a half. Then came Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in 2000 with 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' and he changed the TV industry. Now he comes with another gem.

I had lots of expectation from the show and after watching the last episode, I can proudly say that the show has exceeded that.

Kudos to Anurag Kashyap for venturing into finite TV series (fictional). The guy has a creative eye an it is pretty evident from the show. He takes some of the best actors from India in the field of theater and cinema and convinces Mr. Bachchan to play the lead protagonist (Yudhishthir Sikarwar). The show is fast paced (except for the 1st episode) with lots of twist and turns.

The Legend of Mr. Amitabh will only get bigger after the show. He is flawless while portraying a character of a businessman suffering from a terminal disease and battling some personal issues, a man who just wants to do the right thing, a man who is fighting his inner demons (in this case a Joker played superbly by Mr. Ishtikya). Mr. Bachchan does a small fight sequence at the end which will ignite memories of his 70s and 80s action movies.

Zakir Hussian impressed me first when I saw him play a negative character in 'Sarkar Raj' and here plays a character of a fixer. His chemistry with Mr. Bachchan is a highlight of the show. Pavail Gulati plays Mr. Bachchan's son. His character evolves during the show and you end up liking him as the series reaches its climax. Aahana Kumara plays Mr. Bachchan's daughter who is level headed and wants to help her father. She is graceful as well as beautiful (got a crush on her). Kay Kay Menon, Nawazuddin, Sarika and Tigmanshu Dhulia play important characters and leave an impact. Though I wish Nawazuddin had played the villain's role. The main villain gets over shadowed by Mr Bachchan's charisma in the finale but does a decent job in the 18th and 19th episode.

There is no melodrama or overacting and has some of the finest performances you will ever see on Indian Television.

The show lost the ratings war against 'Saas Bahu' serials but then we Indians take time to appreciate the good things in life.

The only negative is that it has just 20 episodes and for me it is the finest fictional TV show ever made in India.

Finally something different for Indian Audiences on Tele
varunboloor12 August 2014
Yudh has been good, intriguing and has kept us guessing so far, it is not exceptional and it does have flaws in its narrative, but it is such a welcome break from the same old Saas Bahu fare you are offered by all the Indian channels. The casting of the actors for the show is quite spot-on and they fit their roles perfectly. It's a pity that the show is aired so late, way past prime time else it would have grabbed a lot more eyeballs from the younger Indian audience. With TV Series like Yudh, 24 and Powder there is still some hope for the Hindi TV industry. It is not easy to support and put your weight behind such projects when you don't get much support. Kudos to the makers and the studios backing these projects for daring to break the generic mould.

Hope this is a new beginning for the Hindi TV industry!!!

Good Promise
rivu_sm4 August 2014
Yudh may not have done too great with the TRP numbers but it does show good promise and shows the immense potential as far as content is concerned. The likes of 24 and Yudh makes Indian television watchable to me. These shows should be marketed and packaged better like how West does for the likes of Breaking Bads, Game of Thrones, etc.

In the coming future, we'll see much better series in terms of content but Yudh will definitely stand out as the trend-setter.

Pros: The attempt, the story, the intact suspense, performances and film-making.

Cons: Too dark, too much happening in two little time, opportunity lost on focusing more on Yudh's intra-personal communication (something that Breaking Bad does brilliantly with Walter White)

Indeed, a bold attempt with good actors. AB's presence will encourage others to come up with similar stuff and in coming days we'll surely see more of these.

Slick, class and complete revamp of traditional Indian TV serial
Movie_Critic_19013 September 2014
Good storyline, exceptional acting, simple clothes, no gory makeups, superb editing, no shocking sets, fast moving after the initial episodes make this a standout Hindi mini-serial. Yes it may look a bit complicated to start with (likes most series introducing the storyline) but after a few episodes it is not an issue.

Some of the scenes are fantastic in that there is nothing said.....only expressions and the slick editing takes you to the next scene....no explanation needed like in the saas bahu trash soaps.

All the actors have performed very well and stand shoulder to shoulder with Amitabh in making this serial a triumph with Anurag Khasyap & co directing.

There are a good few social issues touched from time to time in the serial quietly in the background for the viewers to take it on. The 3 crores per episode price tag for each episode shows in every episode with everything being top class.

Hope they extend it into series 2 and 3.....

Game changer for Indian TV
jayshah386416 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Well with some flaws but certainly a game changer for the Indian television and a much needed break from the useless TV saas bahu soaps!! Finally some producers venturing into sensible and intellectual TV series with ample grey matter in it. Kudos to Anurag Kashyap and Shoojit Sarcar! Amazing plot and a gripping storyline! Mr Bachchan in the character of Yudhishtir Sicarvar nailed it with some spectacular performances and awesome monologues! Mindboggling idea of pretending to see the joker in the finale to deceive Ajat Shatru! Character of Anand was quite challenging and Zakir Hussain (especially with his devilish laugh and head-scratching pondering) lives up to its complexity and invincibility! Great performances by the Inspector guy, Mona, Tigmanshu Dhuliya and the guys playing Taruni and Rishi!! Expect more from the second season.....

YUDH- Brave & Uncompromising
santoshpatnaik198815 July 2014
Featuring some of the best known theatre and character actors, 1st episode of YUDH is intriguing and creates enough suspense and leaves enough space for the audience to think of the remaining episodes. Mr.Amitabh is pitch perfect in the lead role giving a towering performance so far and one would expect the series to move in a pacy manner once the characters are clearly established.

All in all, a positive step for Indian television and who better to lead from the front than Mr.Bachchan.

Wait and watch out for other key roles played by Tigmanshu dhulia, kaykay menon and Azakir Hussain with Nawazuddin Siddqui yet to appear.

Yudh - A treat to watch
mitra-anurup16 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
After watching this mini season of Yudh, first time I felt that Indian producers and directors are thinking out-of-the-box. A segment of the population was I supposed fed up of all family dramas and serials like Mahabharat. Yudh has an excellent storyline, supported by great acting. As usual Amitabh Bachchan did exceptionally well so did d entire crew. A real treat to watch. When I watched the first episode, it did not appear so much intriguing, but an urgency of watching the next episode developed inside me as soon as the show ended. From the second episode onwards it was too interesting. We used to wait when the next episode will be broad-casted.

A quick review of the first two episodes
rishikar-krishna17 July 2014
Tu na thakega kabhi, Tu na thamega kabhi, Tu na mudega kabhi, Kar shapath! Kar shapath! Kar shapath! Agneepath! Agneepath! Agneepath!

Even at 71 years Mr. Bachchan is unstoppable. He continues to lead, to inspire. Amongst many firsts we will always remember him as the Superstar who brought glam to humble television. And he continues to do it.

Coming to Yudh, I have watched two episodes and am impressed with the way Br. Bachchan has acted. There is a reason why some people transcend time and Mr. Bachchan is a living example of it. He is exceptional in his performance and connects with his audience to the T. Anand (Zakir Hussain) plays a key role in the serial and does complete justice to the importance of the character. But this is where the good part ends.

First of all Sony, a channel struggling to make an impact with the audience fails to understand that people love uninterrupted flow of story. Breaks are a necessary evil, one gets that, coz the sponsor is pumping money for this but using the break to cross promote other shows? Lot of people might do it under various pretext but answer a simple question, I am eating Chinese and if someone tries to keep serving Sambar and idli how will you feel? Irritating is an understatement!

KK looks underutilized but then it's too early to say that. Mr. Bachchan's wife looks too young for him. If I have to give a reference point then it shall be from the movie Sarkar, Mr. Bachchan's wife looked right age for the role.

Yudh is a real estate tycoon, and going by experience most real estate guys have wonderful offices. Unfortunately this fact has been ignored by the director. Yudh's office is more like a make shift office and one can make it out. It lacks the largeness which goes with real estate guys.

The series depicts the story of Delhi, Gurgaon…wonder why such an important person like Yudh will not have basic security? It appears like anyone can reach him, anywhere. Too lame, once again no thinking involved on the part of director.

Yudh seems to be caught up with nuisances like Commissioner and some other Government officers, anyone who is worth their salt in the construction business know that these guys are just pawns. All the strings are held by the ministers. And if I am sitting on the pinnacle of success then I definitely know how to move the Government machinery rather than getting bogged down by it. The script lacks planning and clearly falls short. A person like Yudh should have opponents worthy of a tussle.

Direction is bad, I would have loved to use softer words but it won't be right. My reader please allow me to share an example, in one of the scene, Yudh's daughter is hospitalized. He comes across the girls "legal" dad. But then the legal dad gets a call and imagine what he does, he says excuse me and goes inside the patient's room to take the call. How stupid is that! People are asked to limit the use of cell phones if they are visiting a hospital, not only the director ignores this, but goes on to show that the legal dad took the call by going inside the patient's room. Amazing!!!

And what is with the imaginary character of the joker? It's a borrowed concept from the West. If one had to show an imaginary character then it has to be something or someone who connects with India at an emotional level. A joker is not only frivolous but has no connect with the viewers.

People who tend to make serials with a difference should realise we are no longer isolated; people have a good experience of what is world class and Yudh falls short.

The Director has lost it!!!
nickyhays5 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Seriously Awful!!!. The acting is good but the director has lost it. How can a business man like Yudh who is so calculated and intelligent some time act like a complete fool most of the time. He does not have any clue.

This evil mastermind has got every resources in the world to deploy. a lot of overacting on the part of the villain. Give the people a thriller which makes a lit bit of sense rather than this complete garbage.

Looks like a lot of reviews are from people who have not watched this at all.

Best Indian Thriller. As good as Breaking Bad.
starr-sumit14 August 2014
This is so far the best Indian thriller. Better than most Indian movies. Every character is very defined and likable. Plot revolves around power, business and politics. Amitabh Bachan as always has done a great job. Zakir Hussain's character is surprisingly strong and well defined. He too like most actors has done a great job. And 20 episodes is the perfect length for this story. So the screenplay is very tight. Not much is repetitive and elongated as in most Indian TV series or sitcoms. So you wont find yourself playing with the remote. But sure enough you will have a certain reaction to every character. You will find yourself being sympathetic towards positive characters and feeling hatred and angry towards the negative ones. I myself only watch American and British sitcoms and TV series and surely this was likable.

Great buildup , but failed to finish
paglacholakha22 September 2014
The build up was amazing. There was a constant question of who is doing it and why. There were many random characters who didn't seem random after a few episodes. Every dots starts to connect, and whatever feelings of 'Why was this necessary' you have seems to vanish and every past scene starts to make sense.

This has been the trend up to the final few episodes. Here things starts going downhill. The finale was a complete disaster, I mean complete. The director wanted a powerful climax, understood, but what we got was an extremely slow motion action sequence, so slow that even the 300 action sequences will look like Bullet train. 1 or 2 moments in slo- mo is understandable, but the entire action sequence? That is just YAWWWWN.

Also, in the finale, I feel the director forgot that the man fighting is a 60+ someone with a neural disease, and Amitabh Bacchan, the super star, took over. Also, when Yudh was fighting, Taruni looked very much at ease even in her predicament.

Had it been a normal daily soap, we wouldn't even pay attention to those things, but the director had done a fantastic job in detailing, so, these slight mistakes looked very big, like, 'glaring at your face' big.

Also, there were many loose ends, maybe a build up for season 2.

Performance wise, everybody was top notch. I really liked Ahana Kumra (Taruni). She is such a natural actress, I might go a little overboard, but in many scenes with Big B, I felt she overshadowed her. Zakhir Hussain as the ever loyal friend, Pavail Gulati as the son and Mona as Secretary was outstanding. But some of the actors were highly underused. Nawazuddin and K K Menon were given blink and you miss roles. Maybe we will get to see more of K K in season 2, I really hope so, because, frankly speaking, he is the only character in the show who had nothing to do with the story.

Anyways, hope season 2 comes soon, and will be a cracker. My vote, 8/10.

a promising effort
drmrinaal5 August 2014
from the first 2-3 episodes , it looks like a bad imitation attempt (at least plot wise) of Boss which was a political thriller starring Kelsey grammar as lead. this besides having some similar elements lacks the grace and fails to convey the agony and self-confusion inherent with the fall of a once powerful guy and this debilitating disease. the editing is poorer if compared to the original but the veteran actors carry it off while the intriguing plot line is itself reason enough to watch. but definitely not up to the standards from all the big names like kashyap , menon, bacchan , sarika ,etc associated with it.... but i m definitely continuing at least till mid-season. hopefully it improves...

Indian Al Pacino
abhichaudhary21 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Indian audience are just shame. They could not understand the concept, (Naxalite)naxalism, professional problems, politics, family, psychological problems etc. as described and ascribed in this mini TV series.

Despite being at the age of 70, Amitabh Bachchan gave an outstanding performance (If Hollywood has Al Pacino then India has Amitabh Bachchan). Along with him Tigmanshu Dhulia, Zakir Hussain, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Aahana Kumra and many more,. did great job.

The big disappointment is they could not make a proper ending or couldn't make second season that's what everything was still questioned like Mona's arrest warrant, Naxali girl's mission, Aanand in police custody and his child matter, Escaped Malik's partner, Rishi's fraud Mama, Did Yudh saved her daughter or not.

Yudh ka Yudh -- executed excellently; inspired a wide range of emotions and even stress!
merisoch16 November 2015
Yudh is a colossal step forward for Indian television.

As spectators of Indian television, I think we can all agree that this statement is true: most Indian shows are repetitive. Each episode might be unique and different, but on the grand scale they follow the same format and are predictable. What do CID, Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and India's Got Talent have in common? They're Indian TV shows and they're repetitive.

Yudh is an Indian show that is not repetitive. It's very much like the excellent 20-to-30-episode Pakistani dramas. It makes you think, answers questions you might have had deep inside, and challenges previously-held believes and assumptions.

Set in U.P. and Delhi, Yudh presents to you the life of an elite businessman during a stressful phase in his life. It shows his struggles and the struggles of those around him. This businessman, whose role is performed flawlessly by the biggest Bollywood superstar alive Amitabh Bachchan, is shown attempting to expand his company despite (1) the mental, physical and medical problems he has due to his old age and tough life, and (2) a mysterious source of problems that are trying to ruin his career and life.

The only part of this show that I did not enjoy was the end, because though definite I found it to be inconclusive.

But all in all, Yudh is of course a masterpiece, arguably because it is based heavily on the previously-successful American TV series Boss, and because it cost 3,00,00,000 INR (450,000 USD) to produce each episode (according to telegraphindia.com).

Watch it.

A game changer in Indian TV shows
kaku199126 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I want more shows like this. Its absolutely amazing. The story, perfectly defined characters which are played well by actors and the direction is very good. I really liked acting of Mona and Pavail Gulati. Everyone else was also great. This show is very professionally made. Totally reality like. Attention to details was good. Even the acting of children playing cricket in background was good.

This show is a game changer in Indian television dramas. I think overtime people have made a habit of enjoying saas-bahu type shows because shows like yudh was not available on Indian TV channels. Other people like me who can't stand saas-bahu type shows turned to Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Dexter etc. But I am sure this habit will break in coming years if more shows like Yudh will be produced.

Watchable, but nothing exemplary !!! Warning: Spoilers
First of all, I had very high hopes from Yudh. Firstly because it was Amitabh Bachchan's T.V. fiction debut, Anurag Kashyap & Shoojit Sircar's creative direction and the host of renowned actors who were roped in. To be very honest, most of the tally of 20 episodes left me disappointed but I still managed to somehow watch the complete series. Maybe because I had my hopes too high, something like waiting for GOT season 4. But that is the US and I would not go much into comparisons.

However I would like to highlight the low points of the show -

1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, I mean an actor who lit up films like GOW 2 and The Lunchbox and Kick recently was utilised only for 1 episode and that too for a special appearance!

2. Ajat Shatru, the finale episode performance of the actor was very very dull. Improper dialogue delivery, the action sequences and the body language of the actor itself will not give you the thrill when you are seeing a villain

3. Taruni, very amateurish. She is good in the normal scenes, and very very poor in the emotional scenes. Wrong casting for such an important role

Among the other areas I still don't know why was Zakir Hussain's character given so much importance, and the family angle and kid firing and all scenes were too lengthy. I also felt Zakir Hussain was one of the biggest letdowns of this show. Ayesha Raza, another character who you find only sleeping or walking up and down the stairs and having dinner/lunch. And the worst plot of the joker, Ishtikya who made me realise not every joker is a Heath Ledger!

I would like to give plus points to Mona Wasu, Kay Kay Menon, Tigmanshu Dhulia, the guy who played Hrishikesh( some good scenes), the guy who played Inspector Choudhary. I don't even remember the other many useless characters!

I thought Sarika was largely underutilised. Moreover sub plots like YS altercation wit that News Editor, the undercover girl and YS's son angle, the useless Mona Wasu and the other media girl perceived lesbian affair were unnecessary.

But my biggest disappointment was the performance of Mr. Bachchan himself. One can see that he did his best. But too much was expected of him, and the climax action scenes just killed me right there, I mean a 72 year old having a deadly neurological disease is shown using wrestling moves and lifting a guy probably less than half his age. The joker encounters and the scenes with his 2nd wife were pathetic with all due respect. I thing Mr.Bachchan was at his full flow in the office sequences, the scenes with Zakir Hussain, and in some scenes with his daughter.

To cut the long story short, Yudh had a good story but was let down majorly because of some wrong casting and because too much weight was put on the lead actor !

Good Series, pathetic Last Two Episode.......
raja-mishra720 December 2014
A not so impressive script lets some tolerable performance down Because it is Amitabh Bachchan and Anurag Kashyap, and because they have a reputation I am compelled to compare this effort with stuffs like GOT and HOC or may be Breaking Bad, after so much of expertise on the floor, I hope the standards are set I saw a lot of fluctuation, some good patches of well delivered acting, but mostly a timid script, lacked the Grandeur, for someone like Mr Bacchan to be introduced and direction leaves a lot to be desired, I mean this was neither grand like House of Cards, nor as extra-ordinary as Breaking Bad, the last two episodes were melodramatic, Cranston and Spacey must be disappointed by this contention, the script was not done or run neatly, the acting by the way is by far the best seen in Indian small screen, but not good enough, side actors were not handled properly Dhulia was the best of them all in performance, Zakir Hussain was the next BAchchan, had it not been for the over acting in the last two episode was comparatively good A lot of loose ends in the script and narrative left a lot to be desired, nothing was done of the Joker, he just vanished after sometime, the same with Mona Singh, reminds me of loose scripts of old time, leave the kids at home for the last scenes a lot many characters were neither build nor managed well and later left out for the final few episodes, so much for being a Nolan like executive producer....... The last 15 minutes were worse than SmallVille Ending Scenes by far the worst I have seen in TV series

Don't waste your time
emailagupta22 February 2016
Watched a few episodes on Netflix due to high ratings but this is purely a waste of time. After the first few episodes, I only continued watching as I couldn't believe that Amitabh can be a part of such an awful TV series and I kept on expecting for it to get better. But the entire series is annoyingly slow and the story doesn't get any better.

Bad casting, bad script, long pauses for no reason, inaudible dialogs at times are a few short comings. And that imaginary joker! Common couldn't Big B act to bring the psychological disorder to life on the screen.

Summary: Don't waste your time. The ratings on IMDb are definitely not correct. Nobody can rate this TV series 8.7/10 in their right mindset.

Only strength: Great acting by whole cast.
riddhimaakaritu3 July 2020
Supremely talented cast. At points get interesting but if the cast was not good then I may have not finished the series. Most disappointing is the ending. Script is the weakest point of the whole series. Watch for good acting otherwise it's predictable mess.

I Close My Case. ♦ 30%
nairtejas15 July 2014
I had found the pilot interesting. But then I watched few more episodes and all hell broke loose.. The pilot seemed to overstate what it had in store by revealing very little. Although Yudh looks sensible and more like a solution finder (or at least promises to be) for India's greatest real-time problem, "graft," it is a pretentious attempt by the producers to mint few greens and go funnily cool about it.

Yudhisthir Skarwar (Bachchan) is a diseased, righteous and honest man, yet his reputation precedes him among the bureaucrats and city-runners. His familial life is also not pleasant. The righteous attitude of his plays against him as he plans to shift to mining business, which is marred with the g-word. The storytelling is disastrous and it was the main reason I stopped watching after the 8th episode. It tries to tell too much in 50 minutes and ends up confusing the viewer.

Editing (not in comparison with international TV shows) is very poor. The sets look like they have not been touched by the production unit. To save the cost? I don't know. Yet they say it is the costliest TV show in India. Phrr! I disagree, because the shaky camera only captures raw scene from the outskirts and suburbs of UP. I was expecting a polished start (last we saw in Anil Kapoor's 24; it wasn't perfect but superior), since we have Anurag Kashyap and others in the creative team, but if fails. Also, the sound mixing and editing sucked big time. I couldn't hear a single word Bachchan was pronouncing. It wasn't my TV set, I am sure because others did fine. Later I found that it is not being remastered for TV.

Talking about the hidden mafioso in various fields, it quickly jumps between Naxalites, mine mafia, corruption, politics and stupid familial issues. I don't care if Bachchan is in the cast because all I care is about the story. Yudh, as a recent matter of fact, is a brainless, brawny political drama that makes use of clichés and tried techniques to bring out a result we Indians are famous for inventing, the number zero.

Yudh is just a pretentious potboiler, existing to rake in moolah from Bachchan's first time TV appearance, further energized by his matchless fame. I'm positive after having watching 40% of the episodes.

BOTTOM LINE: Have a look for few episodes and if you hate the way it is made, you are free to choose: press that red button on your remote control and read some literature or Chacha Chaudhary in memory of late cartoonist, Pran.

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES

YUDH 8.7 rating is insane
gauravloomba16 June 2015
8.7 rating ?? really are you guys serious ?? Hannibal is 8.7. so this is making it equal to Hannibal on ratings ?? Cmon ?

The entire YUDH series was just bloated up and had no content, even the titling has no magic. "Extreme Terrible Senseless" work. Stop Rating it with fake users and make some creative TV series.

Please look at our TV history and then compare this:

1: LifeLine 2: Malgudi Days 3: Byomkesh Bakshi ( not that trashy film ) 4: Karam chand 5: Bharat Ek Khoj

This was an insult to the star cast, such big names and not even one quality episode.

and tons of em .. WAKE UP
