What a Cockeyed Pairing
Hitchcoc19 June 2015
An amazing grouping of actors. How did Netflix pull this off. We have the slinky, well-aged Jane Fonda, paired up with frumpy, ersatz hippie artist, Lilly Tomlin. They find out that their husbands, law partner, are leaving them with plans to get married themselves. They have been in love for years. These two are played by the irrepressible Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston. It is sad; it is hilarious; it is tense; it is outrageous. The women and their dysfunctional kids are sent on a roller coaster ride, filled with their own baggage. Jane and Lilly are such opposites and yet the chemistry of this series is breathtaking. The scene on the beach will live forever.

Just What The Doctor Ordered

The pleasure I got out of seeing Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, on peyote. I can't quite find the words. It wasn't the situation, silly really. It was them Jane and Lily, Grace and Frankie going for it, totally. You know Jane Fonda, she's the one hundred per cent kind of woman and Lily can make anything sound funny. The truth within the absurdity is the maximum you can expect, if you're an actor, so, what do you do when you hear Lily say "I have half the beach in my vagina" as if she was saying the most natural thing in the world? You surrender. That's what I did. Just the first episode, titled "The End" Please ladies, may I have some more?
