Who is framing Frank?
Tweekums4 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This episode opens with a flashback to events that took place nine months previously. We see Frank racing through Toronto on a motorbike with a female passenger. He evades their pursuers and gets her to an airport where a private jet is waiting to take her to Brazil. We learn that her name is Rose and she is trying to get away from her wealthy but highly controlling husband. After the plane takes off it is revealed that her husband is on board; he strongly suggests that Frank had betrayed her.

After the credits Frank is back in Toronto helping a paranoid computer hacker get away from his employer; he is so nervous that he inputs his own route into Frank's car's navigation system as he wants to avoid all CCTV cameras… it doesn't work though as he panics at a police roadblock and is arrested. When Frank gets back to the office he finds Kat and Jules being questioned by a couple of police officers… they believe that Frank may be linked to the disappearance and possible murder of a woman… Rose. Frank says he has had no contact with her since she left for Brazil but phone records suggest otherwise. It soon becomes apparent that the hacker wasn't who he seemed to be; there is no record of him anymore and he tampered with Frank's car to make it appear that he was near Rose's apartment when she vanished. Not long afterwards Frank gets a call telling him that he will have to do exactly as he is told if Rose isn't to be killed and he isn't to be framed for the murder. He follows the instructions and discovers who is actually behind the crime.

This episode has plenty of twists and turns and although none of them is a huge surprise they are effective. There is a decent amount of action leading up to a pretty good finale. Most of the action is impressive although the opening motorbike chase had a few silly moments and at times, during close-ups, it looked a little fake. The cast do a solid enough job with Callum Keith Rennie suitably villainous as Schramm… a name only a bad guy could have! The tension rises through the episode and the faked evidence against Frank only serves to help this as does the fact that few people are quite what they seem. Overall a solid episode.
