What an episode... Unexpected turns and really painful by seeing the deaths of the important characters. This episode proves that, even for a cruel person their heart breaks when their loved ones died

The best episode!!!

Warning: Spoilers
WOW! This episode was thrilling, tense, brutal, emotional and well acted. This was the perfect blend of what makes Banshee 'Banshee'. I could not breath for an hour while watching this masterpiece, and what makes it more special is that It's essentially a bottle episode, taking 90% of Its run time in the CADI station while managing to offer non stop thrills and dread throughout the hour (Chayton is a force to be reckoned with!!!). I can't wait for season 4 as this show keeps creating new, exciting experiences and pushing the boundaries of television. We're truly living in the golden age of television, and this TV gold has no signs of slowing down!

Banshee Season 3 is absolutely incredible, and was the highlight of 2015 along with The Leftovers, which is another incredible show, but completely different to Banshee. Banshee is a gem hidden in gems, and will get your emotions and adrenaline running through the roof (highlight episodes: Fixer of Sorts, Tribal, We All Pay Eventually) and should be seen by everyone who has an interest in the action/drama genre.

Please don't let this underrated gem of a series go unrecognised, as It's absolutely worth your attention (and the Emmys :(?!?!)

Possibly one of the greatest episodes of tv ever
shaunmcevoy-9883322 February 2021
This is an outstanding achievement, an absolute masterclass. It's so confined and claustrophobic, incredible action scenes, superb acting and an unbelievable shocking moment that I did not see coming at all I gasped in disbelief. Banshee is turning into one of my favourite tv shows of all time.

Extremely powerful but at what cost?
martin-olsen82420 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Probably the greatest episode of the show up to this point.

Shiobhan and Hood's relationship is very convincing and interesting and the end of it does feel like the natural way for the story to progress.

Here's the thing though: I'm really tired of women being over-the-top badass girlbosses in Banshee and Shiobhan stood out as a much more realistic, very human character and without her, I'm afraid the female cast is going to be exposed for how seriously lacking they are.

Fantastic episode, extremely emotional but I expect Shiobhan will be missed and not just because the character is awesome but because she feels like a necessary corg to make the story flow.

We'll see.

I am going to miss Siobahn
A_Different_Drummer14 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Which by no coincidence is similar to an earlier episode I reviewed with the header "I am going to miss Nola."

Reviewer's Notes:

1. The writing team remains the most unpredictable and the cockiest in network TV. They must live in an alternate dimension where it rains beautiful and talented women, because they keep killing off major female characters.

2. Trieste Kelly Dunn "owns" this episode and merits a nomination for her work. She transforms a simple reaction shot into a star turn.

3. Prior to this episode, the iconic "Assault on Precinct 13" was the definitive Hollywood trope on holding a police station hostage. No more. This sets the bar higher.

4. The "match edits" to the dying woman (Kai's mother) are what we have come to expect from this amazing show. We shouldn't take them for granted.

5. Newcomer Tom Pelphrey steals his scenes. Brilliantly written new character.

Love to hate it/hate to love it

God damn it. The show really keeps on showing that plot armor can be taken any second... Unexpected turns. Impactful episode for the entire show but I hope it will be worth it for the plot and character development - not just for demonizing the already established antagonists any more.

Good action but frustrating
Beck8722 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Don't suppose they could've picked up the AK-47s from the dead guys and used them? Nah, let's use our pistols the entire time to fend off 20 guys with automatic weapons.

Other than that, entertaining episode.

Why not take the shot?
stmatts25 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It always sucks when one of your favorite characters die, but I mean the way they did it from the setup to the actual death was just terrible. I was a great episode until then for me, however the logic just gets thrown out the window along with my investment, just for the one dramatic scene.

Setup - Raven after failing to negotiate with Chayton (it's pretty clear he's not gonna listen, but I'll chalk it up to one last desperate attempt although he could've just pleaded with him from behind cover) watches Chayton pullback a whole bow & arrow and doesn't move. Having Siobhan say "i don't wanna die today" is crap foreshadowing (its whatever), but the reason she gets caught out alone is just stupid. Both herself and Hood are trying to move Raven, gunshots go off in the basement. She tells Hood to leave and go help the people in the basement. The same basement with one way in and guarded by 3 shooters (1 shotgun, pistol, rifle). Sending Hood down there does nothing they have plenty of firepower to hold the room (he only shoots one guy while he's down there too). Raven is too heavy and is going into shock (almost like it should've been Hood carrying him not her). She coughs up her gun to Raven so he's not defenseless and he'll hold the position where he's at. THAT'S FINE. Idk why she's not then in the basement right after that but it's whatever (she goes for a weapon but if she went to the basement she could've got the shotgun off the ADA who's doesn't know guns). Chayton sneaks up on her that's FINE. I thought she was gonna eat an arrow but no he takes her and waits for Hood because we need more drama (I'd argue it be more painful to find her once the dust clears, could even have her die in his arms if you wanna be so dramatic).

Actual death - Hood walks up sees her hostage, pleads with Chatyon, drops his gun, he still kills her.

MY PROBLEM 1. Hood walks up gun aimed at Chayton and it's an easy shot especially with the MASSIVE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE

2. Chayton is chocking Siobhan then SLOWLY moves his arms in the position to snap her neck all while Hood is watching with his GUN POINTED at him.

3. Chatyon has no weapon on him just his bare hands why is Hood dropping his gun no one is around (till he drops his gun) forcing him to do this.

4. A bullet is faster than Chayton snapping Siobhan's neck.

5. We've seen Hood is at least that good of a shot back when Deva was held hostage the same exact way with an actual weapon (why is he being nerfed for this scene). Even in this very episode he's deadly with his aim.

I loved the character too. I get it's sad and emotional when favorite dies but you can't give this a 10/10 or even a 6 or above. You have to actively throw out logic and what the show has tells us about Hood's skills to enjoy this episode.

Assault on Banshee Precinct
searchanddestroy-127 February 2017
Useless to say that this episode is nearly a copycat of the John Carpenter's masterpiece ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13. Everyone has noted it already. And this amazing episode shows that that TV show improves each time, like building a wall, piece by piece. And the behind closed doors scheme is a topic that every TV show in history, at least most of them, has made. It prepares for a characters study, tension, suspense. This episode is one of the best of the whole show, for sure. And I will never get tired of saying that modern TV series give to the audiences things, elements that we never find in large screen features.

The episode that ruined the series
cary_howe6 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Assault on Precinct 13 rip off would have been fine but they couldn;t resist having characters make moronic mistakes that gets one killed and nearly gets a second girl killed while the main character all but lets the killer go with his unexplainably bad decisions. Then a tribal cop does let the killer go and nearly gets killed in the process. They barely stopped short of having characters literally shoot themselves in the foot. One bad episode can kill a series and this one killed if for me.

An amazing action packed episode. But Why Siobhan?
JoeVin2521 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Just started binging the series and I have to say there hasn't been a single episode so far that had let me down. I feel more and more anxious for the sake of every character involved. And Siobhan is one that definitely grew on me, yes she is very attractive but it wasn't just about that. They really let you believe in the hope that she brings on scene and when Hood finally revealed his real name, it just was enough to sell me on the hope factor, also what made it so much more gut wrenching to watch her die. You take any good series; Game Of Thrones before it went what we know, it is always the looming cloud of unpredictability surrounding our favorite is what keeps us around eve when the story gets dull. The story hasn't gotten dull here, it has gotten stronger. As a person of color it was refreshing to see take on television that was quite unique from the universal tone set on it. It is that change or to evolve is possible through one of my favorite actors, Tom Pelphrey. I have no idea where the story goes from here and it's that level of unpredictability and the hook that Banshee has on you, which is so unique that I firmly believe every TV producer or Writer should take a note from it.

Derivative Plot and Dumb Character Decisions
tclark5525 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Although I am watching it ten years too late, i am truly enjoying Banshee--until this episode.

First, the reviewers giving this a 10 for the plot must not have seen all the "defending a building against a horde of" movies, from Rio Bravo and other westerns through Night of the Living Dead and other zombie films to Assault on Precinct 13 and its ilk. It is not an original plot.

Still, it is not bad until the characters start making dumb decisions leading to the death of my favorite female character, Siobhan.

First, Deputy Raven's idiotic decision to move the file cabinets and talk to Chayton is foolish. Did he not hear Chayton already say to Hood that everyone was going to pay? Did he not realize he could talk to Chayton without moving the file cabinets? This allows Chayton to walk in and kill Siobhan.

Second, as one reviewer astutely mentioned, Hood could have stayed with Siobhan and watched over Raven; he did not need to go to the basement.

Third, after Siobhan kills the escapee from the cell, she stands looking down at the corpse, keeping her back to the big hole in the front wall. Did she forget that there is a big hole in the front wall? There is an obvious, trite horror movie shot where the camera moves from Siobhan and we gradually get to see behind her, and, predictably, there stands Chayton.

Fourth, as that astute reviewer wrote, we have seen that Hood is a crack shot, and Chayton is so tall (and has such a large head) that he towers over Siobhan. Hood should have shot him before he could kill Siobhan.

Fifth, Siobhan was a good character, a good female character in a show filled with women who are assassins, zealots, and strippers. I hope Hood does not reunite with Ana/Carrie--I am so sick of her character.
