The Not-So-Great Escape

This was what 'Fuller House' needed - an episode where none of the elders from the original show rocked up to doll out sage wisdom, and it could stand alone as its own beast.

There's a lot of fun to be had here, though the Max character is a bit annoying.

Jodie Sweetin steals the show for me, a very good comedic performance.

Enjoyable fun.

Changing schools can be hard and scary. The loneliness is overbearing. But one person can change all of that. In this case, it is a different way you might think.

Ramona hates Van Atta School. She's been there a week and still doesn't know anyone. Jackson will help her escape. Obvious what comes next.

DJ meets her new business partner, prettyboy Matt Harmon--her boss's son. Matt is surprisingly awesome. But I'm saying this because I have seen many episodes he is in. Can't judge him based on one episode.

Changing schools is a hardship that should have been looked at more here. Most of the seriousness comes from Kimmy wanting Ramona to be happy with all the things happening in her life. I know that in 'Full House' the majority of the episode would have been arranged around this concept. They made two about loneliness in school, but this is a whole new generation that could benefit from watching this. But instead we get 99% laughs, lots of which are not even part of the school plot. Lots of 'Fuller House' episodes are dedicated to just laughs and not on impacting people's lives like most family sitcoms are. Most of the seriousness comes from Kimmy wanting Ramona to be happy with all the things happening in her life.
