Sadly...this one isn't very good.The Canning storyline descends into sentimental melodrama with Xanthe reverting to sulking that nobody loves her, Sheila being aggravatingly dictatorial and Kyle getting a truckload of punishment from everyone.And the resolution...well, there isn't one.The episode just cuts to all the Cannings sat around Sheila's bedside as if they couldn't be bothered to write a proper ending.
The Doug storyline also falls down.We're meant to believe Doug belongs in a home because a bunch of adolescents can't look after him.Well, duh. There also seems to be some rather odd shoehorned-in continuity that tries to wipe Brad's first marriage out of existence.And Piper's Pop Doc is just unspeakably dumb.
Meanwhile, Steph gets a video call from Charlie who tells her he doesn't want to live with her.So...end of story, right?Sadly, probably not and we'll no doubt now be told that Charlie's wishes aren't important.
