Signe Baumane meets Borges Warning: Spoilers
Adapting poetry into a visual format can be a tricky thing: Sometimes, the imagery and the text can complement each other perfectly well, while in some other cases, words are simply not necessary, as the imagery itself is able to transmit the same lyricism of the source material without trouble.

Now, while this animated visual interpretation of the poem has some interesting imagery, its somewhat irreverent tone does not match the same feeling of the source material. In addition to that, the recitation by Kevin Gottlieb felt a bit unmotivated and lacking emotion.

The original poem by Borges is rather beautiful, and one of my favorite writings from him. I would recommend reading it on its original language; while the english translation used here is quite decent, I feel it lacks the same intense emotion of the original Spanish version.

Still, the creative visuals are enough to make this little short a worth-watching experience.
