This is very much the fallout to flashback week, with Mel very much at the centre, which is no bad thing. I'm all in favour of this previously mainly comedic character being given a bit more depth.
Mischa Barton's acting doesn't really seem to be getting any better, so we do get a rather subdued response to being told her sister is dead.
As I've said before, the show has certainly gone up a notch since people like Aaron and David came back. I know a lot of work has gone into developing the Rodwell's and the Vagara Murphy's since the show returned in September, but the minimal impact they've made has been shown by the fact their absence hasn't made any impact.
