Peter Weller and John Lithgow knock it out of the park. I have to admit that the plot is so out there that it is almost believable.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension(1985) Why watch it?
This is one of my favourites! This is the first time I saw a movie done up as a comic and done right. Its a wild run; intentional B movie stuff. What it lacks in depth it makes up in spectacle, imagination and heart. Cult classic.
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension(1985) Yes folks 1985 Well, actually 1984.
Roger Ebert liked it.
Several other films reference it. But it in a google search
Just the cast is reason enough to watch it.
Peter Weller, Ellen Barkin, John Lithgow, Christopher Lloyd, Jeff Goldberg. With some philosophical statements. ( was this a first scifi for any of them?)
It is the movie version of a scifi graphic novel .The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension was written by by Earl Mac Rauch
There are those who can't get on board with this. They see a tacky film. Shallow plot. Sometimes confusing.
The director, Richter said, "It has had the most dramatic reactions of anything I've worked on. Some loathe it and others are willing to die for it".
This is nerd central The humour is brilliant. Every time i watch it, I see something new. Since I bought the film. I've watched it repeatedly.
