Our heroes in trouble

Warning: Spoilers
Interesting plot to see unfold as Pidge wants to leave and puts the team in disarray a little. They are not yet fully a team and grow a lot quickly. Sendak is introduced in a more intimidating way and that is interesting. We get to see a fight between him and Shiro in a crazy good looking animation. Our paladins are in trouble and this episode works well into making us feel that way. This is a nice introduction to what they are going against. They might be separated, but we get to see them under their good lights and strengths with a small note of funny moments at the beginning. This is an episode worth watching.

The home invaders

'The Fall of the Castle of Lions' is just that; enemies invade the castle and the team is divided. I think I was expecting a "Die Hard" episode with Pidge stuck in the castle's inner-workings, but it wasn't that exactly. Which is a good thing.

There's no Voltron in this episode because of the separated team members and you van peg this as setup for a two-parter pretty early on. And it does a sufficient job in this regard. The voice acting is strong here, but the team's cohesiveness isn't there yet. I'm guessing that's what the rest of the season will gradually establish. It's not bad, but defers the action to part II.

This Voltron still not forming

Warning: Spoilers
Plot; With the Voltron Force threatening to tear itself apart with various agendas, invaders make plans to infiltrate the Castle of Lions and steal Voltron.

Finally caught up on Star Wars: Rebels, so now I'm trying to do the same w/Voltron: Legendary Defender... maybe. Try as I might, I just can't warm to this admittedly highly praised incarnation of a childhood favorite. The animation is great, but the attempt to balance humor with drama is handled rather clumsily, and the episodes continue to lack action, let alone any appearance from the titular Defender of the Universe himself.
