Quality episode in an already excellent series!
joshisploshi21 April 2018
This episode was great from start to finish. Scenes with the 'Contorta' and crew being badasses are always fun to watch and this week was no exception (that's some dope flying there Alex, just like driving a bus?).

As far as the UN/Mao storylines I thought they are staying quite faithful to the tone of the books with Strickland/Mao creepiness as well as setting the stage for what is to come in the slowzone.

Similar to the other review I thought the actress playing Anna crushed it and is (other than the missing russian accent and red hair) the embodiment of the character's grace and humanity.

Quality stuff expanse team, keep it up!

TV doesn't get much better than this...
GraXXoR26 May 2020
This episode is so tight it practically hums...

Things are heating up on Earth and the newly introduced goodie twoshoes, esteemed Reverend Anna Vololovodovodovadov already seems more at home and less contrived at the end of the episode than she did at the start. Which is not hard since being given the worst, corniest intro scene of any character so far.

Yet, despite the rather incongruous second grade character intro, given the quality of every singe character introduced so far, the pacing is breakneck, the physics and methods used seem to fit known theory which is always a plus in combat scenes in sci fi series and the plot threads start to lead in very interesting directions.

Beautiful chemistry between the characters and even the rather annoying Strickland meets his superiors, which is always a bonus.

Draper shows her mettle and risks it all with Avasarala and the dialogue between the two manages to suggest a little humour a little in an otherwise serious episode.

40+ minutes of sheer, concentrated enjoyment.

Razorback Rocks

Warning: Spoilers
I thought the first half of Season 3 was the best of the series, and this episode was the best of those. Watching the interaction between Bobbie and Avaserala was super, and Bobbie's effort to evade the missile attack without killing Christjan was amazing. It's always good to see narrative threads come together, and after 2½ years Avaserala and Holden finally join forces.

Great improve upon first two seasons
85122225 July 2018
Greetings from Lithuania.

First two episodes of "The Expanse" seasons 3 were great improve upon first two seasons in my opinion. Although i liked first two seasons and were good in my opinion, but not great. Now first two episodes clearly showed a better narrative and better script. Actions scenes (and there were a lot of them) were simply great and the ending of second episode left me wanting for more.

All in all, i will definitely watch the entire season 3 for sure.

Impossible to exactly emulate the books *for any movie/series*...

But, they're doing a pretty good job with The Expanse!

Perfect casting for Anna - I don't like her as an actress, but she nailed this part.

Weekly wait is making me crazy, unfortunately they didn't release the whole of the season at once! lol

Whose Side Are You On?
Hitchcoc18 January 2020
Another infusion of politics. There are protests on Earth as often is the case when politicians are corrupt. We get to meet a woman who has been a speech writer, once supporting the war effort. She has now become a minister and a humanitarian. But she has ties to the Ambassador. Meanwhile the main focus of the other plot is the continuing effort to find the little girl and to stay neutral. We get more information about what the protomolecule people are up to and why. This is a very significant episode.

Lots of filler
cassandratel26 July 2018
A lot of the episodes in this show have some sudden failure that causes an action scene to get drawn out, first season a scene took up twice as many episodes as needed, last episode it was a low battery, but this episode is the worst offender. This one had some tools escape to show momentum and an excessive amount of camera shots making it very plain what would happen to endanger a crew members life. It just feels lazy and kicks me out of the story. Otherwise, the episode was quite good, and the amount of changes from the novel are just enough to accept and let go of the novel.
