System Victims and Motherly Laws
yazguloner9 March 2022
We listen to the victims of a serial rapist.

There is one among them who is very special: Savannah.

Savannah is a young girl raped by the system. Being pitied and frightened is the summary of her life. She cannot convince anyone. Because she was always taught to be a victim.

There will be closed-minded people who do not believe her in Svu, too.

The criminal, on the other hand, has a completely different story of being frightened and crushed. A victim in the rapist...

It is one of the solid articles with its subject and moving scenes.

The intense, effective, difficult and dark cases from Season 13 and beyond of the new Svu are back. Again, the cases are compelling and the stories solid and jarring. Svu has found its way again.

In These are their stroies, the story of the working woman was moved to the story of the working mother with Noah.

As children grow, their problems grow. That's why, As Noah grows, so do his problems.

William Lewis is starting to bother with his spirit. Olivia confronts her trauma again for the first time in a long time. The reason for this is one of the memories of those days.

Olivia is beautiful as always... Her hair is amazing.

Mood - 1902
bobcobb3017 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Stop bringing back the Brian character. He brought nothing to the table originally and "Mayhem" from the commercials hasn't been entertaining in either of his recent returns.

I am glad the show explored the complicated nature of telling the truth, sometimes women make false claims, but most don't, and SVU tackled the subject because they had to. It was obvious they weren't going to have her lie about it all though and I kind of wish SVU would explore that subject once because it would truly shine a light on something that makes it more difficult for real victims to come forward.

Bland mood
TheLittleSongbird12 December 2022
Feelings on "Mood" on first watch of Season 19 were very mixed to not particularly impressed. It starts off well, but it didn't take long for it to lose its way and never really live up to the early promise. The premise is a hard hitting one and had potential to be equally hard hitting if done right. Decided to rewatch all the seasons and review all the episodes and have done since 2019, even the seasons and episodes that didn't do much for me. That is including Season 19.

"Mood" is one of the episodes on rewatch that showed very little improvement. It does far too little with the potential showed and suffers from an underwhelming case and too much emphasis on the personal life stuff, which is not particularly well done. Found that actually to be pretty common in the latter seasons. While there were worse episodes in Season 19, there were also better ones including the previous episode "Gone Fishin" and even that could have been more.

There are good things here. On a visual level, the episode is solid and the intimacy of the photography doesn't get static or too filmed play-like. Some lovely location shots. The music when used is not too over-emphatic and has a melancholic edge that is quite haunting. Some of the direction is assured, notably the opening.

Did think that the performances all round were quite good considering what they were given, leads and supporting. The episode does start off intriguingly and with atmosphere.

However, there are a lot of shortcomings. There is too much of the Olivia's personal life subplot, and it was too soapy. Cassidy's presence also wasn't necessary and he is a character that has gone from liking him to wanting him gone status. Olivia's sanctimoniousness and victim bias (where she is too trusting of victims and can't see that there is a possibility that they are not what they seem, which has been known to happen numerous times) had already gotten old four seasons ago and now feels like beating a dead horse and comes over as hypocritical.

Olivia and Rollins' handling of the case was not tactful and sees them focusing on one side of the story and one only. The case is predictable and lacks tension, also thought that it was over too quickly and was over-shadowed by Olivia's personal life and her attitude. The thing with the bracelet was lazy and is too derivative of the same touch done a lot better in Season 1's "Closure". The dialogue lacks tautness and is bland and most of the direction is undistinguished, never incompetent but not much stands out.

In conclusion, not particularly impressed while not hating it. 5/10.

Man rapes woman...rinse, repeat.
insideout0985 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Is everyone in the world of Olivia Benson a victim? I mean, seriously? I wish the girl from the foster system was lying about her rape in order to get a new state sponsored apartment. Rape rape rape...there are more categories in SVU than women. getting raped by men. This show cannot continue along this path of Olivia's personal crusades and remain on the air. it has become so heavy-handed that I'm finding myself fast-forwarding through the redundancy. There is a big difference between right and wrong in the context of the legal justice system, and someone's obsessions overshadowing all else. This aside, the writing was boring. I'd offer examples, but it's not worth it. The main cast have become like little planets orbiting Olivia, waiting patiently for her to decide what to do about all the horrible male rapists in the world. How about a female rapist for a change? How about knocking off the political commentary for 5 freaking minutes so i'm not constantly distracted by the PC police. I used to love SVU. Every episode was riveting, and not every sketch was of some women raped by some male psychopath. Olivia and her righteous indignation has commandeered the entire show. Frankly, I'm ready see see her leave. Maybe she and Noah can move to the island together with the detective who's investigating her.

Don't like the character Olivia Benson
arthurcoy30 April 2022
I personally can't stand Olivia Benson , I know she's a character but way to protected! She can treat people with disrespect, but when she's getting questioned herself about child abuse, she doesn't like it and doesn't deserve her adopted child that should be taken from her ! But again she looks at all people she's questioning as though they are guilty ! She's a hypocrite ! Goodie too shoes ! Can do no wrong !
