Poor, poor Eve.
Sleepin_Dragon17 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The show is very much and eight part rollercoaster ride, and this one contains some of the most dramatic scenes to date. The story is gripping and tantalising, but it's the two way character play between Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh that makes it so watchable. The sight of Eve sitting, cowering at the table, soaking wet in an evening dress was just brilliant, Oh has been equally as brilliant as Comer. The story has been wonderful, but what I find particularly impressive is the fact that the show has maintained its quality the whole way through, no middle of series dip here. I now find myself questioning who's working against Eve, plenty of possibilities. 9/10.

This is an amazing accomplishment

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has written a gem of a series! The combination of the comfortable, real life acting of Sandra Oh and the outstanding ability of Jodie Comer as a psychopath that you can't help but love leaves this as a show that deserves every accolade it receives. If you want to hunker down and binge watch, you cannot do much better than this one. I find myself rewatching scene after scene just for individual nuance of facial expressions and person to person banter. Kudos!

I Have a Thing About Bathrooms

Warning: Spoilers
Frank has been saved and hidden away in a safe house. After a cuddle from Carolyn he tells everything. He gave gossip to what he thought were the Russians in exchange for medical treatment for his wife.

Villanelle is not about to give up. We get a face to face encounter with Eve as Villanelle pops round for dinner. A horrified Eve in a wet party dress serves her Shepherd's pie warmed up in a microwave.

By now Eve is both terrified and angry at Villanelle, she also knows more about Villanelle, she is a psychopath who likes to castrate some of the men she kills.

Villanelle uses the encounter to find out where Frank is hiding by taking Eve's mobile phone.

It is a tense, entertaining and darkly funny episode. At this moment Villanelle is toying with Eve like a cat does with an injured mouse.

I started this series with great anticipation. This was a mistake of my own. Silly scenario,no depth to the characters.I wonder why this had a high rate.Only one reason.Jodie Comer.Thats the reason i put two stars and not only one. And Sandra Oh was nominated for best actress???Oh my god what a joke...

This doesn't make any sense.

Warning: Spoilers
I like this show so far. The cat and mouse aspect is very interesting. But there is one major flaw with this episode:

Why the hell does Eve go back to her home when she knows that the assassin and the organization she works for knows where she lives!!! I get that they wanted a face-to-face confrontation but anyone with any sense would have stayed away from their home and arranged for themselves and their loved ones to go to a safe house!

Is Eve wanting to set herself up for this? What does she know about the assassin that we, the audience, do not know? Perhaps following episodes will reveal this?

How dumb can a show get?

Great acting by Oh, Comer and the rest of the cast. But POORLY written - doesn't even pass the common sense test. How did such a good cast get sucked into this?

A secret agent that doesn't know his sense of direction?! Really?!!!

...

...

Charles Barkley would be appalled.

No One Fights Back?
ttgttg2 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Very entertaining show, despite being completely unrealistic. If someone who wants to murder you approaches you with a knife, chances are, you're going to fight for your life if you can't flee. The stabbing murders and assaults of the men so far have been completely unrealistic as there isn't much of a fight. Is it just b/c there was no budget for a fight scene choreographer? Other than the fact that the men whimper like babies before being stabbed to death instead of fighting for their lives, the show is decent. It'll do during this pandemic lockdown.

Wish it'd only been one season
scottfx-1697216 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This season was good but not great. The storyline was weak and I didn't really invest in it. The first season's story was gripping and hard to predict. Throughout this one I often reached for my phone to do a bit browsing. This was a bit protracted and predictable. The writer or producer or editor or all three are different. There was too much emphasis on the sexual tension between Eve and Vilanelle. I felt Comer's acting outshone Or's. The series was trying too hard with the gore and shock tactics. Wish they'd stuck to one amazing series instead of going for a money spinner and now there's to be a third.
