The One Who Will Save Us All

Warning: Spoilers
Another decent episode of SHIELD, but it definitely seemed to be dragging at points. It seems like we got another random Daisy fight, which while always entertaining, is too predictable at this point.

Centering the final episodes of the season on Talbot seems like a bad idea, but maybe the show has some kind of twist coming.

Re-watch thoughts

Talbot is does a 180 this episode that somehow made sense. And we get our Infinity war connection, it's probably not what many people wanted but to me it's a clever way to have Thanos be a driving force for the events on the show but not have the agents involved in the war itself. I dunno I dug that flipped take. There are some cheesy stuff in the episode, but the actors kind of sell it, like that Graviton outfit would look silly on anyone but Adrian Pasdar. Also I'm loving the continuation of the team drama, we are getting some interesting conversation out of this, though I'll remind Mack that he betrayed the team back in s2 and he has no high ground to stand on.

Daisy is the worst

Warning: Spoilers
Where do I start. Right from season 1 Daisy/ Skye has made a series of bad decisions. No one judged her for it. But when Yo-yo makes a decision she is pretty fast to point fingers. So if Yo-yo kills someone it's immoral but if Daisy does not respect Coulson's wishes it is not selfish and immoral. Take a stand people. On top of everything she has been asked to lead the tram when she cannot stop acting like a teenager. This season in general has been very boring. I loathe this character Daisy and Mack. Mack saying there is only one god was crossing the line. He pretends to have high values but he has made some pretty bad decisions in season 2 and later on as well. It takes guts to take difficult decisions which there characters do not have.

Finally giving up

I've been struggling to keep watching this show. The character development, plotting, writing, all seem to have been on the decline for a few seasons. The amount of self referential jokes they constantly use, makes it seem like the show doesn't even take itself seriously anymore. (See: lampshading)

Additionally, I cannot really tell whether the more frequent political references are ironic or sincere. But either way, they are unwelcome. Whether it's Mack interrupting someone to make it clean, "First of all, there's only one god," or General Talbot complaining that the Confederacy is like a bunch of democrats, I'm just tired of it. Maybe if the show had some actual insight into politics, it might be interesting. But instead, they are just trolling the audience in an effort to fill airtime, since they don't actually have anything to say.

Half way through, I shut off the episode and canceled my season pass, and have never felt better about quitting a show.
