With the resolution of the "man in the mask" mystery, the plot seems to have lost direction. The characters starts to act in weird or repetitive ways, although there would be potential for major changes and for the show to take a fresh direction.
Orléans sulks and leave Versailles once again, allegedly not forgiving Louis's decision about their father. Given his fragile resolve, this does not seem likely to stick.
The Chevalier proves some bravery and one would hope in a new start for him.
Marchal acts against logic, not only leaving Versailles once again - yes, him too... - but actually helping his enemies, who in turn despise and fear him. Who in his position would put his life at risk in such a silly way? Totally unbelievable turn of events.
