What kind of Ulver is this?

Warning: Spoilers
Where once the Norwegian band Ulver were some brand of heavy metal - 'speed metal' or 'death metal'? - by the time they recorded this live performance (only their second in fifteen years!), they'd metamorphosed into some kind of prog-rock/post-rock/neo-classical amalgam not a million miles from God Speed You, Black Emperor. The music is sometimes a little pompous, but it's largely awesome, and the performance was filmed by six HD cameras and looks great. If you're firmly in the metal camp, you can probably skip this - there are only a few brief hints of Ulver's headbanging past on display. If you're of a more cerebral nature there's plenty of food for thought here, including performance artist Ian Johnstone balancing precariously on a pair of skeleton legs, Theodor Adorno quotes in the DVD/Blu-ray's accompanying booklet, and the final question posed by the band: what kind of animal are you?
