Surprised as to how good this is. I also had no idea this exam even existed, maybe one day I'll take it. Who knows but a really great in-depth documentary showcasing true passion for beer.

As soon as you see 10 Barrel brewing at the opening, you know AB-InBev has their hands in it. Then you see Ray Daniels and you know this is just one big advertisement for the Cicerone racket. From there is just continues spraying you with ads for AB and Cicerone. Sadly the trailer omits this so you cannot make an informed choice on whether to watch it or not. But seeing Sean Paxton in the previews should have let me know where this was going. Nowhere fast. Not thinks corporate mega-brewer. Pass.

An in depth picture of two men and their journey through the Master Cicerone Exam with a 99 to 100% fail rate. Any dreams I had of taking the exam vanished when I saw what Joe Vogelbacher and Ryan Daley had to go through to take this exam. There were great visuals of beautiful award winning Brewmaster Tonya Cornett as she searches the world for the knowledge to make great tasting beer. Talented Chef Sean Z. Paxton cooks with beer over a fire in an old time setting. This movie is not just an ode to Anheuser-Busch there is a real craft Brewery involved too. A small brewery owned by Joe Vogelbacher and Eric Flanigan founded in 2014 is featured. My favorite part in the movie is when Eric helps Joe study for the exam with mnemonics. A really enjoyable movie.

Loved it!! A seriously well put together documentary about craft beer. They shot this in 4k also so the visuals are stunning also. For somebody like me who doesn't know much about craft beer other then drinking it, I was intrigued and learnt a-lot. 10 stars from me
A Wonderful and Moving Love Letter to Beer

Four different people go on separate journeys along their path to better understanding specific avenues of beer. Of the four separate stories, I couldn't possibly begin to pick one that was more compelling than the others. All four had me thoroughly engrossed in their adventures. This is essential viewing for those of us who love beer.

Very moving, educational and inspiring for sure. The guests that appeared in the film really motivated me to actually follow my own passion actually it's amazing. Funnily enough watching this will make me want to have a nice craft beer... funny that right!

Who would have though how vast the world of beer is! Basically Beers of Joy follows the fascinating journey of four characters - Tonya Cornett, Ryan Daley, Joe Vogelbacher and my favorite of them all Sean Z. Paxton. Loved the documentary and what they all stood for. Give it a go and watch it on prime.

A really informative beer documentary. I will say I know a lot about beer but this film did teach me a few more things I had not known. Some great guys, really passionate about what they do and that's the reason why they are where they are at now. Happy for them all.
