Greetings again from the darkness. A well-dressed man (Vincent Cusimano) is informed that he won't be hired due to an unspecified blemish on his background check. His desperation leads him to don a black ski mask and point a gun at the teller as he demands the money from the convenience store register. Things go very badly, leaving the robber pointing his gun in the face of an innocent bystander. Fate intervenes in the most pressurized coin flip (this one is accidental) since NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.
In a mere 11 minutes, filmmaker Daniel Bogran not only tells the story of a man backed into a corner, he also proves that life is full of coincidences and the consequences of one's actions likely affect not only you, but the lives of others as well.
Supporting roles are covered well by Ryan Caraway, Hannah Barefoot, Karen Bankhead and Michael Maino. The 'circle of life' isn't all unicorns and rainbows, and luck and chance do play a part. The sound effects used are quite effective, and it's too bad (or maybe fortunate) that the movie's theme song isn't "It's a Small World".
