- TriviaIn 2018 a new AMC policy was announced that allows both The Walking Dead (2010) & Fear the Walking Dead (2015) to use the F word twice per season. The first instance was in this episode.
- GoofsAs Rick is trying to climb out of the pit, three walkers fell into the pit, Daryl promptly puts them down and stacks the bodies to climb out. As he climbs up the wall, the camera pans down and there are now five live walkers in the pit reaching up for him before any others have fallen in.
- Quotes
Rick Grimes: You spared Dwight. After Denise, after what he did to you.
Daryl Dixon: You mean lock me in a damn closet? Parade me around so I couldn't say nothing? Man, you got that guy sittin' in a cell like a damn symbol to all them assholes who can't wait to see things go back to the way that they were!
Rick Grimes: [yells] Keeping him alive is how we make sure it WON'T!
Daryl Dixon: No. Keeping him alive is giving them hope that it will.

"The Obliged" is certainly one of the best episodes of the last seasons of "The Walking Dead". The tense segments are equally divided by the protagonists of this series, giving the chance to enjoy the characters that has been worshiped by the fans along the last nine years.
Michonne stays with Judith in Alexandria during the days and relaxes during the night hunting down walkers nearby Alexandria. Her pointless discussion with Negan is probably the only annoying part of the show. The segment of Gabriel and Jadis (a.k.a. Annie) is intriguing and she leaves him alone in the landfill since "she wants to move fast". Maggie decides to head to Alexandria to kill Negan and leaves Hilltop disregarding the words of Jesus. Carol and her people of the Kingdom are attacked by Jed and the Saviors and only next week the viewer will learn what happened to both groups and the consequences of the herds of walkers attracted by the shooting.. But Rick steals the show with great participation with Daryl. His dream is being shattered by part of his people led by Maggie and Daryl that have grudge and hatred of Negan and The Saviors for what they did. The conclusion is scary and cliffhanger. My vote is nine.
