So What Did We Learn Tonight?
sevenlilxenos25 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Jerry and his girlfriend have been very busy the last few years.

Even a post apocalypse King enjoys a good ghetto blaster.

A movie in a dark decrepit old theater will attract alot of Walkers.

Will they show Night Of The Living Dead at the fair now they have a bulb?

Apparently dog is also part bloodhound.

Alpha (everyone calls her that BTW) is on way too high of a power trip, natural selection in the ZA means you sacrifice a crying baby rather than just take it somewhere else? Not even a real animal does that.

The Children Of The Corn scene was even more creepy and eerie without sound.

Prisoner exchanges are inherently extremely dangerous. Surprised nothing went south. Seemed like a missed opportunity as things ended kinda flat.

I knew Coral. He was a smart and pragmatic young man seeking the best solution for all involved in the long term. Henry, you son, are no Coral.

Will Daryl blow off another potential girlfriend or booty call candidate? At least she wouldn't talk about stuff Daryl doesn't want to hear.

Could they foreshadow Enid on prego alert anymore than the ending did?

How many people will die before Henry gets laid? Must of been a good kiss.

Sounds like Sons Of Anarchy fans, myself included, finally will get to see Opie in the next episode playing Beta. They can hide his face but not his voice.

They seem to be enjoying drawing out whatever divided the communities, it better be something good and worth the wait.

Loving Season 9
conca-628-18337226 February 2019
This season has been such a fresh and great season so far. This episode made me love Daryl again and I fell in love with Connie, still not liking Henry taking Carl's storyline but we will see how that goes in the future. The ratings may be down but I for sure am loving Season 9 and it's the show I fell in love with. Thank you Angela Kang!

People who are complaining need to remember that TWD is also a Drama Series
jurirupertmueller25 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Dispite reading a lot of reviews which adressed last nights episode as a filler episode I really enjoyed this one. It included a brief comeback from the recently deceased and had a lot of tension when it came to the Whisperers confronting the Hilltop. Between these moments the Kingdom wanted to restore their cinema experience by getting a new light bulb for their projector what caused my eyes to roll at first. But the reason behind it got me smiling at the end. I love Ezekiel and Carols relationship by the way. I get why some people think it was a little slow but TWD has enough big moments in my opinion and something horrific will happen at the end of the season, we all know that. So before that happens I'm totally okay watching the characters having a conflict about what is right or wrong and how they are struggeling with their decisions afterwards. Because those moments show the characters in the most human way so the viewers might be able to relate to the situation which is a common thing if you're watching a drama series. And that's what TWD is right next to Horror and Science Fiction.

Happiness today only implies that devastation is imminent.
abhigyanmohapatra25 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
God this episode was one of the most well executed episodes I've ever seen in The Walking Dead, but still somewhere inside my heart I fear this all is just the calm before the storm. Alpha seems like a person not to be messed with, and Henry, Boy-O-Boy he's going to get people killed. The music in this episode was the standout, The whisperer music, the music used during the Kingdom mission they all fitted so well in those scenes and especially the one song at the end of the episode with all Kingdom setting up the theatre and Luke and group hanging out.. I know something really terrible is gonna happen soon, but let's cherish whatever we get now, after all we're gonna ball our eyes out soon. Not a prediction, but a spoiler. Definitely a perfect 10 episode.

Wow ... just wow ... What a good episode, Samantha Morton is totally amazing, I really enjoyed the development of Alpha, in the same way for Carol and Ezekiel. God... The baby scene surprised me a lot.

Back to the roots
barnabas-0060525 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The tension I felt during the baby scene can only be compared to the escape in "No Way Out", this is something that has been really missing from the show ever since. The scene was really scary from Connie's point of view, not hearing the walkers approach, and mostly, because it was't completely predictable how it's gonna play out. I liked all the previous episodes this season (more or less), but this is the one that really convinced me that the show is back on track, the one it left pretty fast after "No Way Out". Btw I hope the ratings won't keep falling and fans who gave up on the Walking Dead during seasons 7&8 will eventually give it another chance.

A fresh artistic episode
rickyrodriguescr25 February 2019
The sacrifice for the projector bulb shows just how different the kingdom is as opposed to the whisperers. Even during troubled times they sacrifice so much to make some children smile. whereas the whisperers are feeding the walkers babies. it helps justify Connie and Henry's uneasy feelings and overall puts things into perspective. Was very happy with this episode. Love it when they take the time to show these small moments. increases the realism and makes it relatable to the viewer.

All seasons have filler episodes. Hell breaking bad had an episode where all they did was hunt down a fly. Thats 40 minutes of trying to get a fly. its a great opportunity to give another directer a shot, thus introducing fresh directing and an insight into the smaller picture that would certainly get overlooked in a movie. Sure they can risk going wrong but this one was great.

Bounty

Warning: Spoilers
I am not crazy about Alpha and this new group and yet it does feel fresh and The Walking Dead seems headed in the right direction. A good moment with the baby and Daryl's realization that he needs to save the girl.

The stuff with The Kingdom and the movie was a little lame, but sometimes you need light-hearted entertainment for a change. Every episode cannot be so serious.

Alpha is Scary

This is a perfect adaptation of the comic villain Alpha-her presence, with no action whatsoever commands attention. She'd totally take Negan's bat. (I love this actor)

almost a disaster...
joshuadavid-2472410 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
On hilltop we see the conflict between alpha and his group and the community, the villain demands that they deliver their daughter lydia, in exchange for the hostages alden and luke. Daryl, seeing that he had no alternative, accepted the exchange, except to see his friends being killed.

Samantha Morthon acts very well as the character, who proves to be less human and more frightful, in addition to hitting the viewer in a scene where she orders a whisperer to drop the baby to be sacrificed by the zombies.

daryl in the episode really demonstrates his role as a leader who has not added me to anything, and in the future the producers should turn him into a main protagonist or if they are already turning, I will not be pleased to see this (besides the great Rick Grimes still do) has no profile to be a main protagonist.

henry with his praiseworthy attitude insists on wanting the young Lydia to stay with him, besides being a stupid decision, because we know of the problems that this teenager will cause for the communities.

the main problem of the episode is to focus on the core of the kingdom, the intention of wanting to take the movie to this dangerous world is a little stupid, despite connecting with the fair that will be presented in the next episodes, but it was not necessary to focus so much on this core and leave the episode totally villainous.

At this point people are just hating just to be "cool"
ricardo_sousa_1125 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I don't get the hate tbh.

Solid episode with the light bolt storyline being a bit "fillerish" but overall enjoyable to watch and makes sense to the story and Ezekiel's vision of things for the future.

Up's

+ Good to see music back to the episodes.

+ Alpha and Lydia are stealing the show, great performances by Samantha Morton and Cassidy McClincy.

+ Daryl and Connie seem like they make a great "couple".

+ Enjoyed Enid's callback to Carl's vision.

Down's

  • Some edition problems but nothing too bad.

"Bounty" focuses on the aftermath of Lydia's capture by the survivors and the tension that arises as the communities prepare for a potential conflict with the Whisperers
fernandoschiavi27 March 2024
Ezekiel and Carol lead a supply run for a trade fair that will ensure their survival. They retrieve supplies and a projector bulb for their movie theatre. Meanwhile, Hilltop's confrontation with Alpha heightens when she offers to trade Alden and Luke for Lydia. The Whisperers even abandon a baby after it can't be silenced whom the Hilltoppers rescue.

Knowing Alpha won't let up, Daryl is forced to give up Lydia despite Henry's wishes. After returning to her mother, Alpha slaps her and demands that she call her "Alpha" like the others. Later that night, Henry goes after Lydia, causing Daryl and Connie, a deaf survivor, to follow him.

"Bounty" focuses on the aftermath of Lydia's capture by the survivors and the tension that arises as the communities prepare for a potential conflict with the Whisperers. The episode explores themes of morality and leadership, as Michonne and Daryl grapple with the decision of what to do with Lydia. One of the most intense scenes is when Alpha infiltrates the Hilltop to demand the return of her daughter, showcasing her ruthless and uncompromising nature. "Bounty" sets the stage for a confrontation between the communities and the Whisperers, as both sides prepare to defend their own.

The episode also examines the theme of sacrifice, as the survivors must decide what they are willing to risk in order to protect their own. This theme is exemplified in Michonne's decision to hand Lydia over to the Whisperers, despite the potential consequences. This theme of sacrifice underscores the survivors' commitment to protecting their way of life, even at great personal cost.

Predictable, Cheesy, Underwhelming
LiamCullen625 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
After last week's episode, I was beginning to think things were looking up for TWD (and not just because of the cliffhanger ending - quite the opposite, in fact). Last week's episode was filled with intrigue and suspense, yet this week's episode has been the complete opposite: everything went just as you'd have guessed it would have. It was painfully predictable, and because the writers played it so safe this week - despite there being lots of potential for danger - it was a boring episode overall.

The Kingdom group perform a completely pointless (filler) exercise by going to a cinema to retrieve...a lightbulb? Really? Is this the best you can do? And Carol acted completely out of character at the end of the episode, when she insisted they carry on with the "mission" to retrieve the lightbulb, despite it now being more dangerous than ever to do. Yet another cliché implementation, where two characters swap perspectives from beginning of the episode to the end: Ezekiel says it's too risky and they should leave it, and Carol becomes the reckless one (juxtaposed with their beliefs at the start of the episode). Totally illogical and betrays everything we know of her character and what she's been through (she would never put herself and others in danger for something so useless, after all of the loss she's suffered and the cost which silly mistakes can make).

The young male from Hilltop - his name isn't relevant as if his character keeps going the way he's going he'll be dead by the end of the season - is becoming increasingly frustrating to watch. He's the typical moron character making all the bad choices which makes the viewer roll their eyes - over and over again, episode after episode.

I will admit, I am still hopeful with what can come from the Whisperers. I am certain, however, that this episode was an utter disappointment. That being said, truthfully, I'm more often surprised when TWD is good these days than when it is poor - which is a clear sign of how far the show has fallen from what it once was.

**Side note: I wonder who's paying people to write all these fake-reviews each week giving each episode 10/10 regardless of quality (or lack thereof).**

A very tense incounter !!!
jacklivi-1287025 February 2019
Another solid episode in this back half of season 9. Loved the light and dark tones of this episode throughout, the kingdom scenes were fun and at times very funny and the hilltop scenes were extremely tense and dark. The standout moment has to go to Connie and the baby in the cornfield, one of the best scenes I've seen this season!

P.s Alpha and the whisperes are coming across much better than the comics.

Amazing episode
dlaundre-1485326 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
So true to the book while creating an story that stands alone. I love Samantha's Alpha such great acting and bringing the character alive. The parallel stories were both so enjoyable by catching us up on the past, not letting up on present, and setting the stage for the future.

I know this is sacrilegious to our beloved Mr. Grimes, but this might be the best episode yet. It's not because we don't have Rick, but more a compliment to the sound mixing, editing, storytelling, production, and some really great acting. Part of it could be the tension from last episode, to this episode, and to future episodes when our favorite characters' heads are on spears. :)

Just like the book, Kirkman could keep this show going for years. Thanks for keeping it fresh while true to the story!

Ruthless
stephen-6159425 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Bounty continues to show how ruthless Alpha is. Actual walkers star to approach and the baby starts to cry, alpha just looks at the mother and shrugs. Of course the mother complies and leave the baby on the ground for the walkers to get it. Of course the baby was saved but also showed alpha what the groups weakness is. Then of course when alpha gets lydia back alpha slaps her right in the face in front of everyone when she says "hey mom."

Of course people are upset with henry which can't really blame him too much, they just handed his girlfriend over to her abusive mother. They sent in enid who he had / has a crush on to be like hey henry hand over your little girlfriend so i can get my boyfriend back. So i mean can't really blame him just imagine being in that situation, you have kinda slim picking when it comes to a loved one. So being like hey kid there are plenty of fish in the sea does not work too much anymore lol.

Then of course we get more of the king and queen and how can anyone leave out jerry. Anytime jerry is there is great and of course jerry had a awesome walker kill. But soon the fair is coming! Can't wait for next week episode when beta arrives!

Henry Again
claudio_carvalho27 February 2019
Alpha, supported by her group of Whisperers, demands her daughter Lydia and offers Aiden and Luke in exchange for Lydia. Daryl is forced to accept the swap but when he looks for the girl, he learns that Henry has released and escaped from Hilltop with her. Meanwhile Ezekiel and Jerry convince Carol and their group to go to a movie theater crowded of walkers to get the projector lamp to bring to the kingdom to have a theater for the community.

"Bounty" is an episode of "The Walking Dead" divided in two segments: in Hilltop, Alpha and the Whisperers trade with Daryl and his group, but Henry (always Henry) will certainly get the Hilltop people into trouble with his attitude. It is time to get rid of this stupid character. The other segment with Ezekiel, Carol and Jerry is a full of action filler. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "Bounty"

Horrible accent
mkk-311-co8 April 2021
I really love where this story line is going and I'm happy that without Rick and Maggie this season has stayed every bit the nail biting TWD I love. But I have to say Samantha Morton's southern accent is absolutely atrocious. This is another case of an actor without southern roots completely misrepresenting how the accent actually sounds. The dialect coach should really spend more time listening to people from the south rather than Mammie from Gone with the Wind.

When's The Last Time Any Of You Have Seen A Movie???
wandernn1-81-6832749 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I really have thought since Season 1 that walking in...blending in with the dead was tremendously dumb. It's a plot trick that has been abused to death in The Walking Dead and especially in Fear the Walking Dead. Here in this one we start with Alpha and Lydia having a discussion.

Then we have Rosita being discussed by Eugene and Gabriel about what they need to do about her and her baby. How Gabriel needs to LOVE Rosita. Eugene always funny with his lines but not enough to earn a star!!!

Okay and ALPHA is having problems with a couple of her people questioning her leadership. I liked this scene. I give Alpha +1 Star.

I like her bodyguard. He seems badass. I will be disappointed when he gets dropped by Daryl.

Okay so the Kings group meets another group and Carol stymies the conflict by offering the services of the King's movie theater. That was pretty good, if it works out... +1 Star.

Okay this one 7/10.

Embarrassing cringy nonsense
fazzabix26 February 2019
This is getting ridiculous. I don't know this show anymore. The characters are boring, the acting is terrible and by the end of the episode I felt so underwhelmed in the nothingness feeling it evoked, that I had a mild anxiety attack. Nothing happens, the characters are cartoons and don't get me started on Henry, who has the wit of a 10 year old and the charisma of a mug of hot water. Torture to watch the side storyline with 'The King,' The 'Queen', etc. Nothing about these idiotic leftover characters (laced with even worse new ones) resemble any realism or a reason to care what happens to them. Negan and Judith are the only storylines I pay any attention to now. Any other episodes are a boring filler and waste of time. I'm so close to pulling the pin on this once great series. After/If Negan goes, I'm certain I will.

Live With it
ThomasDrufke26 February 2019
Boy, now that's the type of episode that this show used to give us every week. Tremendous tension, a poignant conflict, and even a light hearted tone to complement the tough moments.

I'm all in with Alpha right now. I was one of the consistent defenders of Negan, but Alpha's change of pace is exactly what's needed. Merely Samantha Morton's voice is enough to umhinge even the most calm audience member. Those sequences made even more intense by the involvement of a baby (what else is new) which Alpha was prepared to let die for the safety of her people as a whole. I mean, even Negan wouldn't have been that cold hearted!

The other half of the episode focused on Carol, Ezekiel, and Jerry's venture to get a film projector bulb at an old movie theater, which was of course swamped with dozens of walkers. While I was begging for the show to go right back to the main conflict every time we cut to this section of the episode, it does end up bringing some much needed levity to an otherwise extremely dark week of The Walking Dead.

"Bring me my daughter and they will be no conflict "
ebbewahlstrom25 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is a great episod like we get to see more the kingdom and here traditional way of doing things like for examples getting a projector just to watch a movie and doing jokes by killing zombies and thats a way of going through this insane world that they living in.

Now to Alpha wich are showing more that she is a perfect villian by not showing any sympathy for anyone not even a baby and her daughter and saying that he could easy have killed Luke and Aiden if it werent for her daughter.

What i really like to is the Henry and Lydias relationship divelompment cause it feels so real like Henry wants to give Lydia a change to have a better life and that it's collides with her past.
