Even as a longtime Karate Kid fan I still went into YouTube's Cobra Kai w/a lot of doubts. Doubts that were quickly swept aside by the series' brilliant execution of a formula that was both fresh and familiar. It was a tricky balance that the show perfectly managed.
In S2, we pick up literally right where we left off at the end of S1. The fallout of that first season is all over this initial episode and the track for an intriguing second season is laid. As w/S1, the most interesting character remains Johnny Lawrence. The struggle to find the better man within is the engine that drives much of the drama. This is of course complicated by the return of Sensei Kreese, and I for one can't wait to see where this all goes.
