Self-conscious fun

His wasn't a name I recalled but the lead-ups about his 'disappearance' intrigued me. Glad I watched. This is somewhat more about the wish-fulfillment of the director, but she didn't really monopolize the film, so it was a fun romp.

Definite Must Watch
seanpfgs17 November 2018
Kathleen Jayme grew up idolizing and watching the Vancouver Grizzlies. Her favourite player was the clubs first ever selection, Bryant "Big Country" Reeves. He had a decent career but was the lightning rod for the teams woes. After the Grizzlies left Vancouver Jayme shows how the city has forgotten and written off the Grizzlies and the lack of remembrance of an NBA franchise that once graced Vancouver. Jayme goes through her life and what basketball meant to her and shows her crusade to find whatever happened to Big Country who pretty much went into seclusion back in Gans , Oklahoma where he is from. Jayme goes through the struggles and inch by inch she works her way to find him and include interviews from friends, past teammates and then finally, Bryant Reeves. It was great to see how quick they bonded and see what happened to this man. A must watch and well done documentary by the crew. I loved it and recommend to all. 10/10

Great Short Documentary

If you get a chance to watch this small film by a small woman with a big heart, I highly recommend. I remember Bryant Reeves mainly from the NCAA. In the same year this filmmaker began her fandom of Big Country, I had an opportunity to play in a pickup game with my basketball idol Michael Jordan. Big Country seems very worthy of your admiration. Nicely done.

Loved it! Wasn't expecting it to be that enoyable to be honest. Bryant is just a really likeable guy!

Wonderful!!

Awesome, fantastic, delightful. They say you should be cautious about wanting to meet your hero's. In this case, they're wrong. This is not your typical sports Doc. It's a simple story, with a nice message. It's possible that these types of sports Docs don't have the edge that people want to watch. However, we should make more of theses types of sports Docs. Nice story, good people, wonderful outcome.

Someone should've told Kat Jayme that it's not all about her

I used to love Bryant Reeves when I was younger and was excited when I heard about this film, but boy was I disappointed. If you remove all of the parts about the director's failed career and her getting cut from her college team, it would struggle to make 30 minutes long. The idea of making a film about Big Country had so much potential, but Kat Jayme decided to make it as much about herself as well.
