Meh...

The 2019 movie "Home", from writer and director Adriel Roman, was a movie that I had never heard about, and thus never watched. And stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2023, I was initially intrigued by the movie's synopsis. And of course I found the time to sit down and watch it.

The narrative in "Home" was rather slow paced, and really requires some patience and a devoted attention span from the audience. I found that the movie was a tad too sluggish in its narrative to really be entertaining, especially since there wasn't really nothing much interesting happening throughout the mere 64 minutes that the movie runs for.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, and that is usually something I enjoy in a movie when I sit down to watch it, as there are no associations to previously portrayed roles and characters in other movies. The acting performances in "Home" were actually fair, and that added something worthwhile to an otherwise semi-stale storyline, making it a bit more bearable to sit through.

The music score in "Home" was actually good, and added a somewhat foreboding and dark atmosphere and layer to the storyline. In fact, the music does help set the mood and atmosphere quite well throughout the course of the movie.

"Home" is not an out-of-this-world-million-dollar budget movie, but Adriel Roman makes it look like a proper production with whatever meager means and funding available, and that definitely adds something to the overall impression of the movie.

If you enjoy horror movies, then "Home" is not a movie that I would say would make for a good first choice of movies. And having sat through the 64 minutes, I can honestly say that I am never returning to watch the movie a second time.

My rating of "Home" lands on a three out of ten stars.

One hour long but almost left early

The acting is wooden, the plot is boring, the budget must have been in four figures. I give it one star for the actress who played Maya.
