Bosch returns to the more simple case. It's not. The pill people end up with him on a plane, heading who knows where. The surveillance people get spotted and now he is on his own. Also, in the first part, the guy in prison orchestrates some action through his girlfriend (whom he is using). The efforts to get him out are being submarined. Some of Bosch's evidence from that previous case, a little seahorse picture, has disappeared.
