On the temperature gauge, this was sizzling.

The second episodes continues, and builds from the first. A quite exceptional hour of drama as the intensity and complexity of plot are intensified. It features plenty of twists, and turns, the plot getting even more complex. Karyo was terrific again, but what struck me was just how amazing an actor Tom Hollander is, I thought he was somewhat underplayed in the first episode.

Some bail biting moments, the hiding scene being one of the most dramatic and bleak things I've seen in ages.

A few threads are a little complex, but I'm sure they'll all come together. Exceptional, 9/10

Measure of a Man

Warning: Spoilers
Requests for smart gas meters went up after episode one was shown!

Baptiste found Natalie Rose but after she told him more about Stratton. Baptiste withheld the truth from him. However Edward Stratton is more cunning, not the downtrodden underdog people thinks he is. He stole Baptiste's car keys and looked up addresses in his sat nav. Natalie ended up drowning herself accidentally as the gas meter reader called around.

Stratton is the key man so far. Baptiste and the viewer is puzzled if he is just a creep, a psychopath or someone involved in trafficking with Romanian gangs.

Stratton himself is a man of many layers. As Baptiste finds out from his ex wife, Stratton's own daughter died from a drug overdose. Something that pushed him over the edge, Baptiste is determined to find out more but dangers lurk everywhere.

The episode itself has many layers, there are some characters so far just playing small roles like the man in the field who found a bagful of cash. It is a slow burn series but there are many more puzzles to unearth.

Wrong cast..

Casting Belgian actors to play Amsterdam police officers detracts from what could be a good series. Baptiste is now completely unbelievable.

Bad acting, weak plot devices

Main guy is such a terrible actor makes the entire show laughable. Plot twists written by a teenager. Also, can anyone in Amsterdam not know where the keizersgracht is and has to put it in their GPS? Like a cockney not knowing their way to Tottenham Court Road...
