Another good one

Apart from first half of season one that was mediocre and most of season 6, SHIELD episodes have always been very good and mostly not fillers and this one is just another one joining them. A lot of things happened in this episode and we only have 2 more episodes so I have literally no idea what's gonna happen next, really wish this season were 22 episode season like the first half of this show, mostly because I don't want to say goodbye to it soon, but I'm sure the writers know better and will end this show nicely and won't ruin it.

I'm not ready to say goodbye

So Agents of shield decided to hit us with the feels one more time before they kill us all next week! this episode had so many great callbacks and heartfelt interactions, it ties emotional show long arcs and even introduces new dynamics, like who knew Mack and Sousa interacting would be this much fun?! It's far from being the best episode of the season (though that speaks more to the quality of the season than anything) but as a setup for the finale, it's excellent

Really amazing

It's kind of sad that this is going to be the end of the road for the show, but it's nice that they kill it before it's been overused and there were still fresh moments and twists in every episode till the end.

Brand New Day

Warning: Spoilers
I am not sure what to make of the show. I feel like the acting is still relatively solid, all things considered, but they are just getting far too ridiculous with how they are handling all of the time travel, all of the robots and these people who have gone from wanting Hydra to succeed to now wanting the absolute end of the world.

I am not sure what to make of it all, but it does not feel like the show is headed in the right direction at all. For the sake of SHIELD I hope that they can wrap things up well in the last two episodes or it may reflect negatively on the long-term future of MArvel and this show's legacy.

Here come the machines!

Wow, this is just like Star Trek Voyager when the Borg had control of all the time tunnels and went about manipulating everything...or wait maybe it's like Continuum...no wait, maybe it's like Terminator...or maybe like Picard during the last episode...I can't decide which story this is copying. The good thing is, they use just enough footage and moments from previous seasons to try and tempt you into going back and buying the DVDs and BluRays...excellent marketing ploy. Episode 11: A Brand New Day ~ What an antiphrasis,

Better than the last episode, but we're still heading in the wrong direction..

Warning: Spoilers
I guess this Nathaniel guy is really gonna be one of our main villains for the finale of my favorite show. I'm not mad, just disappointed. Allow me to explain: For some reason, the writers believe the Malick family should be our source of villains from the past. The whole Wilfred Malick interference in this new timeline was somewhat interesting, and moved the season along quite nicely, but I'm confused why we're stuck with Nathaniel. Gideon Malick was a necessary and for the most part well-written character in season 3, but even he was killed off as we progressed to the finale. Nathaniel was just his plot-device younger brother used to give Hive reason to kill Gideon's daughter leading to his betrayal of Hive and his death by Daisy's hand. We get a quick cameo from Gideon in the past, and then move forward with Nathaniel as our season villain. Of all the characters of previous seasons, Nathaniel is the one we're stuck with. We never see any of the real villains in the past like Whitehall who we know is alive in this timeline, or Alexander Pierce who was supposed to be behind Project Insight.

Anyway, more specific to this episode, if we are confirmed to be in a new timeline, why are the Chronicoms and Nathaniel targeting the old SHIELD? They aren't the ones trying to stop them! At the end of the episode, the Chronicom ships destroy several SHIELD bases, including the Hub, Sandbox, Fridge, and even the Triskelion. This SHIELD doesn't even know about the chronicoms, and if what we learned in Captain Marvel is true, they have yet to eveN encounter aliens! They are ZERO threat. The chronicoms should have only one target: The Lighthouse, where the people who are ACTUALLY trying to stop them are. The SHIELD they target should fall in 2014 anyway, or earlier if the timeline was affected by the attempted launch of Project Insight. It is Coulson and his team that continue as the SHIELD that the Chronicoms are concerned with. Is destroying 1983 SHIELD just the chronicoms flexing? Why bother when Sibyl knows where the Lighthouse is, knows that Coulson and his team are there, and has no idea that Mack, Daisy, and Sousa are not on site? She should be thinking she can eliminate the ACTUAL problem in one fell swoop by simply destroying the lighthouse. Sure, it's fortified, but there are several ships shown to be firing on earth. If they all fired at the right target they would surely destroy it eventually. I admit, the sight of watching the triskelion be destroyed along with other SHIELD bases was frightening and was supposed to raise the stakes, but it is all undermined by the fact that if this is a new timeline, it is inconsequential. Coulson rebuilds SHIELD anyway, and again, the SHIELD they are firing on won't last either, not to mention the chronicoms aided hydra within the very SHIELD they just destroyed, making pretty much every previous mission in this season pointless. If this was their plan all along, why bother starting at 1931? The chronicoms don't need Nathaniel, or Kora, or the Zephyr, or Fitz, unless they know destroying 1983 SHIELD does not help their cause in any way. The team says they have to act unpredictably so Sibyl cannot predict their actions, but the only one whose actions don't make sense is Sibyl! After everything that has happened, my only conclusion is she is incredibly incompetent despite being able to tell the future.

So the grand total for this episode is: 1. Going back in time was pointless and essentially just for fan service 2. Nathaniel is a prop who is not needed by the chronicoms but is still here anyway 3. The chronicoms are destroying everything but their actual target

And these lovely plot points are the foundation for our "epic finale".
