A male perspective
mark-fb15 July 2020
As a male of a certain age (just shy of my 60th birthday) not only do I recognise many of the depictions of the misogyny that existed at the time, but I look back with disgust at what the norms were in those days.

This show depicts a bygone age that is disturbing and hardly recognisable from the age in which we now live.

With one exception: The amount of misinformation and conspiracy arguments that are highlighted in this show are still being played out in 2020. Replace short skirts with face masks and equal rights with healthcare and the world hasn't changed at all.

Well acted, female and male - and how those males must have felt acting in what should now be a totally alien towards their female counterparts.

Rose Byrne is good

Introduce Gloria Steinem. I am sure this is the episode people will be high on. Rose Byrne does a good job portraying her, almost unrecognizable. Very sure she had a good amount of time to study Gloria herself since she is still alive and well, able to give her accounts, full mindset and conflict with her allies. That's what really made the episode good. Most pertinent line in this episode though, "Soon we will have unisex bathrooms". Who knew. Women felt it would never happen. Worth a watch.

Boring

Rose Byrne is great playing the character. Along with the rest of the cast. But the script and direction is slow and dull compared to the first episode.
