I miss Paddy

All around great episode but I'm still missing Paddy especially after that god-awful actor portraying Young Paddy in a flashback sequence. He did what may be THE worst faux-Irish accent on film, ever.

Unbelivable

First season was very good, second was ok but this... the bathroom scene defies any common sense... Any other option to do that thing would have been better. Clearly huge lack of imagination here. Maybe the original writers left... Dissapointed...

christians are terrifying

A good first episode! The new risen are interesting characters, and there's nothing like some psychotic christian extremists to really creep you out. Another reviewer mentioned the guy playing young Paddy as being terrible, but I actually thought it was quite good casting. He's an Aussie doing an Irish accent. It's not great, but not awful. I'm betting that reviewer is Irish.

Season 3, really?

Warning: Spoilers
First 2 seasons were great bc of PADDY. Paddy was the best character in my opinion. When Paddy died the show died. Then it's like okay, what else is gonna happen? The gorgeous bathroom scene with James when HE DIES and becomes the same thing Vic, Phil, and Sarah were. Give it a rest would ya.

Hold on

Warning: Spoilers
I may be getting episodes mixed up, but I'm right about everything.

Did they just kill James? Did they just kill James in episode 1 of the season? Talk about foreboding. This felt wrong immediately. This decision by the writers marks the beginning of the path that lead to the season finale (which feels impromptu and unsatisfying) and a panic attack for me. Even though the ending feels entirely lackluster, I really liked the characters by this point. Buffy got to keep her squad. Scott always had Stiles and Lydia. So what in the hell kind of takeaway is this?

Is the strategy to start at the bottom?

Warning: Spoilers
This is a truly dumb episode.

Was this the dialogue among the writers?

"Where do we go with this? I have no idea."

"Me either."

"Not me."

< pause >

"Wait. I know!"

"Do tell."

"We'll bring back a girl to some weird Christian family and have them try to kill her!"

"Great! That's a classic! We do that over and over! Everybody loves that!"

"But...who'll write the dialogue? Does anyone actually know any Christians?"

< everybody > "No."

"Ah well, how hard can it be? We'll just use what we've seen in a hundred other things like that. Put up crosses, stuff like that. They'll eat it up."

"Genius!"
