It's Television...

In response to some of the reviews posted here and in other episodes, that essentially pan the show for its lack of realism or authenticity, there really are limits to what a show like this can do. For instance, of course this episode arc wasn't shot in the Philippines, the very high costs for shooting on location would prohibit it. I think you'll find that the show is mostly shot in locations around Southern California, which provides a variety of sites and terrain that can be dressed up to look like any location they need. The "Gucci" hotel they're staying in for the mission is not in the Philippines, but appears to be the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. SoCal has a pretty large Filipino-American population, so it's likely that the extras on screen are locals from SoCal, who are 2nd, 3rd & 4th gen which might explain why the accents and dialect is off.

As for the lack of respect for military protocol, I didn't serve so I don't have as much insight, but this is the case in every military show and movie I've ever seen (Top Gun Maverick a recent example). It seems in order to have an edgy, heroic character like Jason (Bravo 1), that character has to have a disregard for command, and routinely violate orders to save the mission.

I guess I'm saying just enjoy the show and its make-believe reality ... find humor in how ridiculous the distortions and goofs are, and look forward to Season 6!

Definitely Not Set in the Philippines

I know it's just a "show" but the "filipino" actors NOT EVEN! Their tagalog was "slang" with an American accent lol!! It would be more realistic if they used real Filipinos. This made me see the series differently - It was so realistic until this episode :(

The end of days for Seal Team, it appears

Warning: Spoilers
Everything's falling apart in the personal lives of these guys, including finances, which begs the question: Why do this insanely dangerous and emotionally devastating job for so little money? Clearly, the show is in its death spiral and the Paradise Lost title of the Milton tome is a blatant testament to this. Clay's devastating injury was the final nail in the coffin because he will never recover fully from his injuries , and the team will never be the same without him. I really liked Seal Team and am sorry to see it go, at least in the way I've come to know it.

I give up ..

I wanted to like this show, i really did, but this far in it has been just another copy and paste american show. Drool over the flag no matter what and everything will be fine. Also the fact that "Bravo 1" seems to think he has to pay his superiors NO respect, just because he is part of a non-standard unit? Nope, he would have been in Leavenworth by now and that goes for most of the team as well.

Who cares less about Davis?!?!?!
fluffchop6 February 2023
OMG it's worse than the scenes at home. The home scenes are the worst part of the show and a total waste of time. Now we have an even bigger waste of time, a support staff side mission. This is like when Nat from the Peach Pitt had story lines and it's only the 2nd season. Seriously who cares less about Davis?! Who cares about the wives? Who cares less about anything to do with anything that isn't combat? Are they trying to make it appeal to chicks or something?. Aren't there enough male bashing chick shows in the world already without diluting a good show with meaningless chick stuff. And now Mandy is having a whinge. It just makes for really uninteresting viewing. It's the opposite of good. This show is about balls, well it was. Now it's like they want to make it appeal to chicks. That's never going to happen so just stop already.
