Pretty good
rsmith-816645 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I actually really enjoyed princess. It was nice seeing a new character that wasn't dull and actually had some personality.

I enjoyed the scene of Daryl and Judith talking in the woods.

Not sure why there was a mine field placed right by the city. That was a little odd.

Also not sure why aaron and Alden were following the whisperers so closely and talking so loud. Made no sense.

But besides those 2 things I liked the episode. It's a shame have to wait awhile for the finale now.

The Minefield
claudio_carvalho20 April 2020
Eugene, Ezekiel and Yumiko meet the armed Juanita "Princess" Sanchez in the city and when their two horses run away, they team-up with Princess. She tells the group that she knows where to find means of transportation. Beta, the Whisperers and the herd of walkers head to Oceanside while the survivors from Alexandria are hidden in an old hospital, the Tower.

"The Tower" is the preparation for the last episode of the Tenth Season of "The Walking Dead". The segment of Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko and Princess is silly and funny. But the coming battle between the survivors and the Whisperers is promising. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "A Torre" ("The Tower")

Note: On 11 January 2024, I saw this episode again.

Emotional
tristan_195 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode developed a lot of relationships and fleshed out the cast admirably.

Ezekiel and Eugene could identify themselves to Princess in some ways, and Yumiko finally accepted her at the end, which was really nice. Juanita's loneliness has been impacting her for some time and it was great to see her smile.

Negan pushed Lydia in a certain way, which was inevitable for her to deal with the loss of her mother. The scene when she finally breaks out and let her emotions out was awesome, and I have to applaude the writing.

Judith and Daryl had a really great bond. I hoped Judith would have told Daryl about Rick, but it was heartbreaking when she revealed she didn't want him to go. Daryl keeping it real and telling her about the fact he can't make promises about uncertainty was true to his character.

When Judith saw the dead whisperer, she was upset and thinking about the family, maybe never knowing what happened and always looking for her, which paralleled Rick's situation. Nice touch after Judith's talk with Michonne in What We Become.

Carol offered a sincere apology to Kelly and we are left wondering where Connie is.

Finally, Aaron and Alden were captured by Beta, and the giant whisperer is leading his herd. This sets up the finale adequately and the hype is real, despite the wait.

So, good job on fleshing out characters and relationships. Princess, Lydia, Judith, Kelly are going to be big players for Season 11, I think. And as Jesus says, all of them are going to make an happy dysfunctional family, Negan acting as a father figure somehow. Carol will stop running, Lydia and Princess are going to find people they can talk to.

Extremely slow episode, but not in a bad way
Splarke225 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The scenes with Princess started out being pretty annoying for me honestly, but part of me still really liked the character. When she broke down & opened up more, she won me over. Negan and Lydia's few scenes were great, Negan's redemption arc continues. Daryl and Judith shared their best scenes ever together, their relationship is so adorable. I think it's pretty disappointing how we didn't see the iconic tower death in this episode. Considering 10x15 is called "The Tower," it seems this would've been the perfect time to have it happen. Maybe we'll see a remix of it at the hospital in 10x16, but I doubt it. 10x15 is a great slow burner episode that sets up what should be an insane & wild season finale. I think this episode might get some unwarranted hate due to the fact it ends on a pretty massive cliffhanger and we have to wait so long to see 10x16.

Season 10 (especially 10B) has been phenomenal. I really feel like TWD has entered a new prime.

Daryl and Judith spin-off anyone?
theknownames9 April 2020
They look great together. People complained that she was too capable for a child but anyone who has spent time with a a kid that age knows she can do much more. This show can't be perfect season after season episode after episode but they managed to bring it back and keep it right.

Why do I have a feeling the Princess is going to become the Jar Jar of the walking dead universe?

Thought it would suck, was actually great!!
alexthelion-215 April 2020
When I heard this episode was a let down, I was skepticism, but after watching, I am very happy to say that this is a great episode. Tons of great character building moments, great tension, and great acting (but you already know that). Please give this episode a shot before rating it 1 star

The worst of the season.
ououzaza6 April 2020
Story didn't go anywhere. Too much filler. While the Princess part is pretty ok. The tracking on the horde and Daryl & Judith's walk are really boring. Kind of no point of story. This episode is really really bad.

Great Character Writing
neganscomingback5 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I know what your gonna say. "Hey what about princess", "Shes crazy and cheesy", "What are you thinking?" As a fan of the comic, I have always liked Princess since her introduction to the comic. I always liked her and I think they grounded just enough to not feel out of place. Paolo Lazara who is portraying her is absolutely great.

Also all the Dialogue between and Negan and Lydia is superb.

I had no clue what Beta was whispering. Absolutely no clue whatsoever. Will be glad when this storyline is finished to be honest.

Not the finale!
It's a great episode. It was never meant to be a finale. That said, There were some great contrasting moment between Negan and Lydia, then Darrel and Judith. Very emotional.

The Tower
bobcobb3016 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Princess provided some laughs and a much-needed new face on the landscape. While she may get old fast, the show needed something like that.

Still, we had too much Eugene and the rest of this current cast is just a nightmare, so I can't score the episode too high.

And more nothingness...
Just-A-Girl-1424 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Another episode with nothing happening in it. I only give it 4 stars because I liked the 2 minutes talks between Daryl & Judith and Negan & Lydia. 2 minutes of normal feelings of 2 girls who lost their mothers but that's about it. The rest is really not convincing! Ridiculous dialogues and even more ridiculous scenarios. Here are some questions: How did all of them come together after the destruction of Hilltop? Btw, is it me or nobody died in that "big" fight except for the old man who killed himself? Why is Alexandria empty all of a sudden? Why is Kelly so forgiving? What happened to going out and look for her sister? Did the writers told her that Connie is alright and on her way back? How is her reaction normal in anyway? Why are good trackers like Aaron and the other guy standing so close to the whisperers? Are they trying to get caught? What is that "plan" they were talking about? Instead of watching Carol whine again, maybe share some details? Why are they not trying to make loud noises (like music) from different directions to split up the horde? Is the mysterious plan to just sit around in an empty building and wait for what exactly? What's so surprising about Beta going nuts? Was he normal looking before Alpha's death? I was looking forward to see who Stephanie is? The show desperately needs new interesting characters! I'm going to give her a chance but a crazy woman is not what I had in mind. First we got the king, now we get a princess... Is this The Crown or TWD? Are we really supposed to buy that in this huge city only one crazy woman survived? Why is there a minefield in a concrete parking lot in the middle of the city? If the city is empty why didn't they hear the explosions that killed their horses? Why are they even following this woman? Won't they in a hurry to get somewhere? How did Beta found the place where the "survivors" were hiding? Are we supposed to believe Aaron and the other guy gave up such important information to the enemy?

Pick up the pace people! Enough with the soap opera and repetition of the same story over and over again. Yawn!

The Final Battle of the Whisperer War Begins
ninjaboyballer6 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was a solid one that I feel like was not as good as last weeks or Michonne's last outing, but it still offers up some good moments. For example, I liked Princess's character a lot more then I expected to and the actress does a really good job with her and her backstory. We'll see how she is from here on out but I'm happy with her character on the show and she's really fun. Also Lydia and Negan's scenes were great, especially that last one. Damn I did not know Cassady McClincy could act This well. She was great as well as Cailey Fleming as Judith with her scenes with Daryl. I'm surprised that she's just as good as the older cast because she's only supposed to be like 12. Beta losing his mind was also really fun to see though it was kinda ridiculous sometimes. And the whole land mine thing with the Princess kinda felt a bit stupid. Aaron and Alden didn't get that much screen time like everyone else did, as well as Carol and Kelly. But Aaron and Alden are captured at the end plus I like the heart to heart that Kelly has with Carol. This all culminates in Beta arriving with his horde at the hospital the Alexandrians are hold up in. I really wish they didn't have to delay the finale, but I do understand why they did it because of the recent COVID-19 pandemic (btw stay safe you guys, hope you all are getting through this).

Overall this is a really solid episode that builds up to hopefully a satisfying finale that we will have to wait and see on how it turns out later this year

Final rating: 8.6/10

Darryl and Judith spin-off anyone?
theknownames9 April 2020
They look great together and make the perfect team. People complain that Judith shouldn't be so smart or capable , that she is too young, but that's not accurate . If anyone spent actual time with a 9 year old kid they would know she is capable of much more. This season really picked things up in TWD front I mean it can't be perfect episode after episode season after season but it's managed to make a decent comeback this season .

Building up for a terrific season finale, giving us amazing character interactions and development
Holt3446 April 2020
Laura Belsey did a great job at directing this episode that stands as a build up episode for what I think will be a terrific season finale, giving us a very good and enjoyable episode. Now it wasn't wow but it had a lot of things that I personally love with the show, the small things like The Tower is the very hospital that Beth died in. We get to follow a couple of perspectives in this episode, every pov has character development that someone will like, great development. Seeing more of Pittsburgh was nice, loved the set and the various of stuff they did there. There are many great character interactions in this episode, so are the acting. The scene where everyone is together was so nice, seeing the side and minor characters get some screen time was needed. I liked it, felt like the major theme around the show, showing everyone together as family. Princess is a character straight from the graphic novel, she's very similar but I don't know if I like her yet. The comic book character I like but I think the actress and the TV adaptation will grow on me.

There's a lot of things this episode did right, it's a build up for what looks to be one hell of a good episode that is the season finale. With the long wait is what is disappointing as it sets up things for huge things, timeline wise it will be hours between episode 15 and 16 but we have to wait a month or more. Have faith, the final episode will be worth it and will be rewarding. The return of Maggie? The final showdown between The Survivors and The Whisperers? Introducing what has to be The Commonwealth? Many things to look forward to, I can't wait!

A little bit disappointed
braedynh5 April 2020
I know it's setting up the finale but I felt as though, this episode lacked an engaging story, it felt like we missed something as they were suddenly at a hospital and this big plan had emerged for our survivors without any Build up, I enjoyed the Negan and Lydia scenes (they are probably the most convincing and interesting characters for me), I quite like the Princess so far, And it was nice to finally be in a different setting (city). Overall, it kind of felt like a filler though compared to the previous 5 episodes, I wasn't engaged in the Aaron/Alden scenes nor the Beta scenes to be honest

Warning: Spoilers
Another character development episode, and what an episode it was. Ok listen up. This was a good episode, only problem is that we're not having another episode next week which is sad. This episode was great in that its building up for the next episode. Perfect setup for next episode. But since we're not having some TWD next week, it's sad.

The episode itself wasn't that bad. I loved all the emotional scenes with Carol, Daryl and Judith and especially Negan and Lydia. Wow. Though, idk why Negan would tell Lydia he liked Alpha. Alpha and Lydia practically hate each other but yea. Negan needs to try his best not to upset anyone , i don't want him to get killed. But that scene with Negan was just so powerful, almost teared up. Also that scene with Daryl and Judith IS EVERYTHING I LOVE about TWD! That scene was so emotional. Judith knew if she told Daryl that Rick was alive she probably would've left her too like Michonne. I love how all the characters act so humane , just amazing. How they're handling Princess is just wow.

Man, this virus sucks. Hopefully the episode comes out soon and it isn't a long wait. Some of y'all might be mad that there isn't an episode next week, but LISTEN this episode wasn't set up as the finale! Too many bots on here giving it a bad rating. This was never intended to be a finale.

P.S. Also, the show didn't do such a great job hiding the fact that the hospital was the same one from Season 5 did they? They just gave away that detail. Also who captured Aaron and Alden? Was it the Whisperers or Maggie possibly? This episode was so good with so much build up and questions left unanswered all to be on he finale. Omg. Love it. Can't wait for the Finale!

Good new character, bad timing to her introduction.
raphaelmarcelino5 April 2020
It was not the time for a sunny and funny episode like this. We are almost at the end of a great season, and a filler in the penultimate episode drops down all the excitement.

A great episode
mattmillermiller5 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I feel people are more upset about the delay of the finale ( which was not planned) leaving us at the cliffhanger we are left with. In reality, for a penultimate episode, it was awesome ! Great emotional moments between Daryl and Judith and an intriguing arc growing with Beta. Not to mention the finale is gonna be epic. Don't get salty in your reviews as if this was the finale, it is not !

Warning: Spoilers
Another good episode. Dare I say TWD is back? The first half of the season was shaky at best and the first couple episodes of the second half were also pretty poor but otherwise it's been very good. This was another slow pacer but the introduction of Princess was welcomed. She seemed a bit fan-servicey at first but seeing her reasoning for the way she is and why she did those things was actually quite touching and well-needed. I think it would be extremely lazy for the writers to turn around and reveal her to be a villain in the future so I will assume that she is genuinely like that which is definitely fresh and good for the show. Walking through a minefield was a bit of a strange writing choice but she's not exactly the most sane person in the world so I don't really have a problem with it. I did have a problem with the scenes with Beta and his horde though. Several scenes were just him whispering (I literally couldn't tell a word he actually said) and dramatic shots of the horde. Yes okay there are a lot of walkers and they're heading into war we get it. I liked Beta as a secondary antagonist but as the primary antagonist of the show I really don't think it'll work. He doesn't have a personality and I can't understand what he's saying. He's literally just a mega insane dude wearing a walker mask stabbing anything he sees. I really hope he dies in the next episode. As for Negan, the last truly great villain, he continues to be the most interesting part of the show, and his interactions with Lydia were eye-opening. Really looking forward to seeing where his story goes. He's redeemed himself but surely it doesn't end there for him. For him to go from badass ruthless leader to community cook just doesn't seem rewarding enough for his character. I guess we'll find out. Shame about the finale being delayed tho, otherwise this half of the season has been surprisingly really good for the last 5 episodes.

High 7

Sigh...
rubya9 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
When you think characters cannot be more annoying than some of the ones we already know, Princess turns up... I don't know where to start on how annoying she is and I dread having to see more of her in the future.

This episode looked like it was made by amateurs.
  • Somehow everyone found each other again and moved to an old hospital. Queue the long panning shot jumping from person to person showing them just standing there.
  • Negan is now mother hen, bringing food, cooking it and counselling Lydia so she can grieve
  • Aaron and what's his name are spying on Beta to find out where he's taking the horde like the worst sleuths on the planet; standing or walking 5 feet away from them and of course getting noticed.
  • Eugene, Princess and co walk in to a concrete parking lot that somehow and for whatever reason has mines that they can't see and after 10 steps in they're stuck because, you know, going back is not possible as they can't remember those 10 steps.
  • Oh the group's horses got scared away by Princess' shooting and found their way in to the minefield to get blown up, but the group never heard a thing of course.
  • Judith, a child, can just walk out in to the woods on her own in the midst of a war of sorts; no adult minds or stops her, she's Ricks daughter you know so she'll be fine if she encounters the whisperers, unlike grown men like Aaron and what's his name.
  • Daryl, the crossbow ace, can shoot all zombies with head shots without fail, except that whisperer because we need to see their pointless conversation and Judith's concern for people even when they've tried to kill everyone she loves.
  • Carol has a chat with Kelly who's very understanding so Carol can quickly rejoin the group and not have guilty tears in her eyes in every scene.
  • The group have forgotten past seasons about how you can attract a horde and move it to where you want with loud sounds because it would be too easy to defeat the whisperers if they did that.

I'm trying hard to find something positive to look forward to in the show but with the arrival of yet another character, annoying "tank girl from Fortnite", I can see we're not going to get more realistic and gritty stuff, just more ridiculousness.
