Missed The Mark Poor Sound Quality
icocleric14 September 2023
The sound quality on the dialog is awful, it's very quiet, but sounds like the music are much clearer. There is a lot of "filler dialog" that comes across as awkward, and doesn't really add anything to the story.

So the whole thing comes across as badly polished, and in need of better editing.

The location is pretty, and the camera work is decent enough. The actors feel like a mixed bag, some do pretty okay with what they have. Others add that extra layer of awkwardness to the already awkward dialog.

So with the combination of things I found the film to be overall pretty dull, and boring. I can enjoy a good indie horror, but for me this missed the mark.

Decent low budget horror film.

Watched this at a special screening in Vue cinema in Rhyl and was pleasantly surprised at how well the film kept me engaged the whole way through.

If you like suspense and being kept in suspense with an unnerving feeling of dread then this is the film for you. Wife loses her husband and the search for him takes her on a night drive she will not soon forget.

Also Approaching Shadows is filmed entirely in North Wales which is where I am from so YAAAAAY 😄👍
