C.O.G. (2013)
Not what is appears to be
I was really looking forward to this movie. From the trailers it looked funny, mild and sweet. I thought it was going to be about a young man meeting new people and having positive experiences working at an apple orchard. I was wrong. This movie has a few sweet moments but overall, it is grim and bleak. I cannot emphasize this enough. When it is finished, you are left feeling sad and disappointed in humanity. In simple words: this movie is a downer. Really though, if you are looking for a sweet, light hearted movie, you won't find it here. The best thing I can say about the film is that Jonathan Groff is extremely talented and does a great job, but even he can't save this film.
Supernatural (2005)
The best show ever!
Supernatural is a brilliant TV show. Sam and Dean are as different as can be yet somehow they get along so well and their relationship is beautiful. Sam and Dean's undying love and loyalty for each other is something to envy. This show explores so many themes-- love, loss, bravery, loyalty, betrayal, addiction, fear, etc. But don't get the impression that Supernatural is all seriousness, it can be HILARIOUS as well. I would say that Castiel provides much comic relief, but Sam and Dean often mess with each other which is entertaining as well. Supernatural has made me cry and laugh many times. My only complaint for the show would be that it is beginning to become a little repetitive: Dean goes to hell and comes back right away, Sam goes to hell and comes back right away, then Dean goes to Purgatory. Also, more recent seasons are made up of one long ongoing theme while the first seasons used to be more about the individual cases. Oher than this, Supernatural is AMAZING and if you give it a chance, you will love it.
The Office (2005)
Brilliant.
The office is just brilliant, a masterpiece if you will... Many people claim that the recent seasons are awful compared to the first but I disagree. The show has certainly changed a lot since the beginning(gaining and losing characters) but it is still just as hilarious and just as fascinating. It is just wonderful watching Jim and Pam together, and Watching Jim and Dwight with each other. It is really the relationships that make the Office flourish. Even though the place is dysfunctional, they all love each other in their own messed up ways. I have watched each episode of The Office various times and it never ceases to make me laugh. If you are looking for an uplifting TV show, give The Office a chance. The jokes will stay with you for days and the episode plots are simple yet intriguing.
