Great movie with amazing acting. The part that really irritated me though was the son. After the drunk driver gets caught repeating his crime while awaiting sentencing, the son doesn't want the mom to report it to the prosecutor. I'm sorry but that is selfish on so many levels, although the movie tries to portray it as selfless. Oh yeah, let's not report it so he can cause another wreck! He keeps making it all about him, when the reality is it's about getting this drunk driver off of the streets before he hurts someone else. The blood would have been on their hands, but luckily mom didn't listen. Then the son keeps whining about not wanting to sue the drunk driver- ummm are you going to pay all of those medical bills?! Didn't think so, your parents are so yet again, stop being selfish.

Excellent Movie!

I thought this was an excellent movie. I'm surprised there have not been any other comments about this movie. I thought Eric Lively, Mereidith Baxter and Alan Bates played the roles masterfully. They all should have won academy awards for the parts they played.
I think there should have been a more harsher punishment for the drunk driver. He should have been charged with more then he was charged with such as, reckless endangerment, wanton disregard for human safety and assault with a deadly weapon.
I give this movie 10 stars out of 10. I had to tape it because I like it so much.

I thought that this was an excellent movie with excellent, acting, costumes, production designs, script, storytelling and casting. I like Eric Lively, he was perfect for the role of Andrew Stone. I also like Mereidith Baxter, Steven McCarthy and Alan Rosenberg. They did a great job acting too.
This is a very courageous and encouraging story about forgiveness, healing and love. When Andrew is critically injured in a car accident by a drunk driver his mother demands justice. However he wants to just forgive and move on with his life and return to normal.
I agree with the mother though I think that driver got off way too easily. I think he should have been charged with D.U.I., reckless endangerment, assault and a wanton disregard for human safety and sentenced to a mandatory fifteen years in a maximum security prison.
Everything was great in this film. Kudos to the cast and crew and filmmakers. Two Thumbs Way Up!

Good performance Meredith Baxter in a dramatic role.

Interestingly, this is the only dramatic role I've seen Baxter in where I was actually able to take her seriously. While some actors are capable of doing both comedy and drama brilliantly (e.g. Mary Tyler Moore, Katey Segal) others are better suited for either one or the other, and I think in general Baxter is better as a comedian. Since "Family Ties" I've seen her in a number of made-for-TV movies which had quite serious subject matters, but unfortunately I did not find her performance convincing. However, this one movie is an exception. I thought she mastered the facial expressions perfectly and gave quite a touching performance so I really have to give her credit for this.
