He's Still Out There
Hitchcoc12 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
While Cullen confesses to several copy cat murders after a skillful interrogation, the original killer is still out there. Pretty soon, those who have knowledge of things or can produce evidence are starting to die. More plastic bag suffocations. Marcella is relieved when she finds evidence that can clear her, but she is still in grave danger. Jason makes connections with the gay son of his former employer and gets back on the job. We close with a brutal act that is going to be hard to watch. Marcella knows that while she has gotten Cullen off the street, she may be at least partially responsible for the deaths of other people.

Hmmmmm..

Marcella thinks she may have made a mistake, but she gets a conviction, and the team are quick to celebrate.

I'll be honest, I spent some of the episode scratching my head, wondering exactly who is who, was this series perhaps split into two four part stories, with Grace's murder the common theme, or are the new characters linked to previous events.

It was very good, but somewhat of a step back from the magnificen previois episode. Marcella's husband is really getting in deep, what on Earth has he unleashed, how on Earth did the pair get together without starting a war?

Good, but a bit muddled, 7/10.

Needs more speed

Intriguing but still a bit slow. A few things are starting to be revealed which keeps viewers inquisitive. Family feuds and the murky world of business entice the viewer to continue watching but I still believe this could have been much shorter. The closing scenes will leave people wanting to see more.

Who is who?

New characters involve the story. They are releated to each other but not a clue exactly how. A second you might find the killer than a minute you are not sure.

Hard to believe!
Just-A-Girl-1420 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I find it VERY hard to believe the police did not notice the differences between the 2005 murders and the 2016 murders until now. First thing you do is check if the murders are identical. Especially considering that there's an eleven year gap between them. They can't just write it off with "to be fair we should have seen it". We are talking about a major case of a serial killer in the UK! They have what seems to be a pretty big task force. They even checked with Interpol to see if something like that happened abroad. It's not just hard to believe, it's borderline ridiculous!

I also think that by now, with all do respect to Marcella, someone should have figured out she is involved in the Grace case. This is a high profile murder. Surely someone other than Marcella checked the security camera footages. Someone should have noticed by now that she was on them or if she deleted or did something to it, then someone should have noticed that (especially since they did seem to notice she checked them before they knew Grace was dead). It's hard enough to believe they kept her on the case when her husband was having an affair with the victim. They are starting to look stupid and I am starting to lose my patience.

I also don't buy the fact that her DNA wasn't already in the system! She was a detective in 2005. A national DNA Database was set up in the UK in 1995. By 2005 it already had more than 3 million profiles. That must have included DNA from the detectives working on crime scenes. Why wasn't her DNA already in the system? Again, super hard to believe!
