An excellent show that never should have been cancelled
Dani-5614 September 1999
Brotherly Love was a show that innocently taunted the dramas of being a teenager and played with the idea that two co-workers would come to realize their love for each other. It was funny, honest, and had an excellent cast (especially Liz Vassey as Lou Davis and Michael McShane as Lloyd Burwell.) Cancelling such a great show was a mistake and I look forward to the weekend to see reruns.

Fun for everyone

I just rediscovered this show that I used to watch when I was in elementary school and have to say that it's held up really well. The three brothers are so great together and the story lines are always hilarious for people of all ages. This show is enjoyable even if this is the first time you've seen it. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to find. The relationship between Lou and Joe is well developed, and Andy is one of the most realistic kids I've seen on TV. Overall, if you ever have a chance to see the show, I would. My family ranges from 2-40 and every person in my family adores this show. The concept is different than the family shows that come out today.

Funny. Should have lasted longer

I just re-watched the show recently and was compelled to write a review. As I'm watching, I'm realizing just how funny this show was and how it definitely needed more than 2 seasons.

I loved the his show so much!! Joey and his brothers are so cute and put on such a good show! Wish it would come back with more episodes or at least be available on one of the streaming apps. Miss it so much and can't find it anywhere to watch :(((( Such a good family show and so funny!! I would watch it over and over if I could find it. I watch Joey and and his brothers in anything that they are in. Him and Andrew are so cute and act in shoes so well! I miss Andrew on boy meets world but by far brotherly love was one of the best shows in this time. We need a reboot!!! Bring back brotherly love!!!!!

Art Attack
Guitar-829 June 2003
One of the coolest episodes was Art Attack. That's when Matthew Lawrence played the guitar & started singing that goofy little tune, "There's A Pigeon On Your Car"!

The last time Matt played the guitar & sang on tv was on Gimme A Break, as well as his tv-movie, David. Just a little tyke then!

A very average television show in the vein of "Full House"
MovieAddict201617 August 2006
Joey, Matt and Andy are three brothers living in Philly in a building above a car garage where they work. The garage used to be owned by their father, but he has recently passed away, leaving the three boys (one an adult, one a high-schooler and a middle-schooler) to live with their mother.

Every episode of the show would somehow involve a moment where the oldest brother gets in a tizzy and throws a fit, then later apologizes and acknowledges that he still is upset about his father's death. This tension resurfaces in every episode - and gets really old. Obviously his father's death is the foundation of the plot for the show, but that doesn't mean the entire narrative needs to somehow center around this.

The supporting cast is rather weak - the other two Lawrence brothers (they're all brothers in real life) decrease in acting ability by age, the youngest becoming nothing more than the equivalent of a Mary-Kate/Ashley Olsen "cute" gimmick, and there is of course the comedic role given to a troublesome co-worker at the garage - an overweight slob named Lloyd who eats. A lot. Har, har.

Overall it's not surprising to see this was canceled after two years - the characters weren't interesting enough to sustain a lengthy run, and the producers never really expanded the story lines enough. Every time you tune in you're basically getting a variation upon the same concept, and in spite of poor acting and lousy scriptwriting this sealed "Brotherly Love's" fate.

GREAT Family Show...
Pat197321 November 1999
I loved this show, especially the chemistry of Joey Lawrence and Liz Vassey. It stars 3 Lawrence brothers that are all very funny. The whole cast of this show is great. This show should of gotten a better chance of being on longer. Michael McShane(Lloyd) is very funny as one of the mechanics. The show showed family values and comedy. It was so good that I even watch it on the Disney Channel. I taped every episode. You have to love the Lawrence brothers. I really like Liz Vassey. She is a great actress as well as easy on the eye. Watch the show if you have time, you won't be disappointed!!!!!

A GREAT show
hansy9 February 1999
Brotherly Love was a great show! It was unique and genuinely funny. How many shows have three real-life brothers play brothers on a TV show? Not many. It was a great show, they never should have canceled it. It airs weekdays on the Disney Channel now.

Great Show!

Brotherly Love is one of the best shows that was ever on television! It was funny without being cheesy, and yet it still had serious moments where everyone learned a lesson in the end. And the Lawrence's are the cutest boys ever! When this show comes back on the air, I suggest that everyone watch it.

This Show Is My Favorite Show On Earth!!!!!!
FanofGoodCharlotte9 November 2002
This was my favorite show on earth!!! I can't believe they stopped airing it on TV!!! It was so funny, and I think Matt Lawrence is the HOTTEST guy alive!!! I hope they start showing it on Disney again like they did "Sister, Sister". I only have like 10 episodes on tape, so I gotta see some different ones! If you ever saw this show, you would know what I'm talking about!!!

LOVED this show!!!
ladies_pinch6 September 2005
This show is one of the best shows ever made, it's funny original and unique I'v never seen a show like it since! All three of the Lawrence brothers are fantastic in this show and so cute! It was Joey Lawrence's first sitcom after Blossom and it think he made a successful transition from being Joey the dumb brother in Blossom, to Joe the cool Sexy older half brother! Even though there were some really funny comments about Blossom in this show! It is really well written. I loved how Matt made every teenager laugh at his character, Matt plays Matt the typical teenager, who goes through everything that us teenagers go through and things that no one enjoys or finds funny, but Matt gave such a great performance he made it funny! And i know for a fact that loads of teenagers related to Matt because they were just like that! Andy is just hilarious in this show every scene he is in is so funny I'v never seen a funnier seven year old!! A well written show well acted and i am so disappointed that it was cancelled!!

A really great family series for TV
timu5915 January 2002
It is too bad the show was canceled. There is so much crap on TV as it is. This show at least dealt with real life situations and all three of the Lawrence Brothers starred in it. The dynamics between the brothers is what made the show. They work so well together, and I hope in the future that they can get another show together.
