Fraser tells the story of a lifetime in this short film. Powerful emotional message, with practically no dialog. Impressive how in such a limited amount of time, and with self-imposed restrictions, this film gets in touch with the emotional legacy of one of the most traumatic events of our time.

Powerful and well crafted microcosm of war's personal cost.

I really dug this. It brought the impact of being in war down to a personal level, as opposed to the massive scale trauma we are used to thinking of. It also made the "bad guy" the one suffering, which was an interesting switch around. Good plot development, as we don't know what's happening as it goes along. Little bits get revealed until we put the picture together. Even the end and the crucial moment is hinted at, although strongly enough for us to get it. A terrific short film.
Intelligible and artistic...

This is a bloody clever bit of film. The audience don't really know where they are being taken but they arrive with a gently developing aha! Characters are vivid yet easy to grasp on the fly. And not since 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' have I seen difficult subjects handled with such sensitive awareness & yet a firm authority.
