You'd be better off killing yourself....

Warning: Spoilers
If childish humour, abysmal acting and all round poor production values are what you enjoy, then Throg will not disappoint.

Actually, saying the acting is bad is implying that there was any acting talent on display at all - there wasn't. The "actors" aren't even wooden - styrofoam is a more apt term - being uniformly horrible and artificial.

On the other hand, if you like comedies that actually make you laugh and prefer jokes and plot that aren't written by a five year old, then my honest advice is to not just give this a wide berth - give it a berth in a different port!

In short, well shot, wrong genre! :-(

Sorry, but this is a putrid childish mess. No plot to speak of and no laughs to be had (considering it's SUPPOSED to be a comedy) On the plus side, the overall look of the film is very professional. As a low budget horror this could have been very very good, what possessed them to do comedy is beyond me!?

In my opinion comedy is quite hard to do right, as its a very subjective thing. Also, not everyone can do comedy (These lot especially!) The producers of this shot themselves in the foot if you ask me!

Take my advice, you lot obviously have talent, but please DO a horror film!

Really funny

I actually found this low budget flick to be amazing. It is quirky and funny as hell. For a movie made by amateurs and for $35k, it is really cool. The tango scene is very funny, as is the hit-by-cars scene, and some of the comic timing is brilliant. The editing could have been less choppy, but it is still a riot. Throg's dance scene in his skivvies is also worth the price of admission (groundhog dance from Caddyshack maybe?). It reminds me of wiley coyote meets 3-stooges meets monty python meets acid trip. The special effects are also amazing for such a tiny-budget indie. It's very unique among the indie movies, and it is frankly refreshing not to see either horror or some morose cornfield indie.

Captivating but demanding

I couldn't help myself, but this movie had something oddly fascinating and charmingly captivating, and forced me to watch it all through. Although i'll admit it took me however 3 days while having to take some intermediate breaks to recharge, to be able to renew accommodation for the constant overflow of the movie.

It is an overflow of absurdities and irony, but the script writers are obviously talented in making fun of all genres although it may be a little unclear and on the Verge of too abstract of a storyline at times, i feel the overall red line is clear at the end. It gave me the same feeling as old time splatter movies, but with a much more intelligent storyline with many twists.

Watching this movie felt like being together with an overly enthusiastic girlfriend that gives u no room of personal space and isolated contemplation to think, but is full of charm and u just can't deny access to her/it, because she "is" with her heart. You just have to slip away quietly and do your own thing to be able to return with full energy and equally shared enthusiasm.

If u watch this movie the right way, that u get not burnt out, I think it's either a love it , or hate it experience. I loved it :)

Better with beer!

Warning: Spoilers
Considering this movie was shot on weekends for less than $30k... I'd say they did a great job! The film won Best Cinematography at the Boston International Film Festival, beating out million dollar films. The writers and entire crew started the venture with no film making experience and they win a major award first time out. Ur-Shag is... Well, He's REALLY that big! I personally think they used Aries WAY too little in the film and WAY too much time on others. On another point, Wayne Woodbury's cinematography was first rate. Matt Power's Editing, and writing work was astounding. Dana Lee was simply superb! Other review say that this Movie could have been a Horror film... Um... the whole premise is that Throg is a total Moron who nearly destroys the world by his stupidity on a daily basis while trying to save it. Hard to take the humor out of THAT don't cha think?
