The Kiddies Can't Handle Cliffhangers!
spasek24 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
You gotta hand it to the all of those kids who gave this episode a "1" score. Not a single episode of the series deserves to rated lower than a "7" at least. These are kids who have no concept of numbers and what they mean, or they're kids who were just so upset about having a cliffhanger ending. Yeah, kids...I know it actually means that you have to wait! It's like dealing with kids who are upset that they didn't get everything that they wanted for Christmas, so they take it out on their parents.

Those who appreciate fantastic storytelling from Taylor Sheridan will find this episode to be just as mesmerizing and full of great characters and dialogue as all of the others. A good writer also knows how and when to throw the curveball. I'd wager that most people anticipated Season 3 to end in a similar fashion to the previous two seasons. I actually clapped my hands at the end because Sheridan did the best thing: left me wanting more.

The Joss Whedon's of the world (he was furious with George Lucas for the Empire Strikes Back ending), will be upset that a resolution wasn't reached...all tied up in a neat little bow, even if it is predictable, and often lazy storytelling.

As long as Taylor Sheridan is behind the writing of this show, I know I will never be disappointed. Like reading a great Dickens novel, you always know you're going to get top-quality writing.

True Yellowstone fans will not be disappointed with this episode. Can't wait until Season 4 (hopefully next year!).

Cliffhanger, sure, but not that hard to figure out.
doubtitall25 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Dutton survives. We wouldn't have seen his cellphone stopped the kill shot to his heart if he was going to die anyway.

Kayce survives. He's armed and with a big, thick wooden table between him and the assassins.

Whether or not Beth survives is the only real cliffhanger. Either she dies, or she'll spend the first few episodes of Season 4 in a hospital bed, probably in a coma, so badly burned she's wrapped in bandages.

Either way, Rip is going to go on a killing rampage. Season 4 should be a hoot.

Left a lot to wonder about until next season, I thought is was very well done and acted, loved it, this is a great show.

p.s. who else thought that was creepy of Rip to do that with the ring ?

also, who else thinks that Roarke (aka Josh Holloway) has the worst hair ever ?

I will not spoil it. Others have stated it already. There are so many amazing side stories. Stories within stories. The acting is Emmy worthy. Put it this way...this is the first review I have ever posted. So many hooks. They make you emotionally tied in and begging for the next season to start in a week. Cowboy Sopranos? Yup!

Warning: Spoilers
Watching this finale again gave me different clarity on things, I picked up on stuff I hadn't last year. I can't wait for season 4 to start it is going to be awesome I'm sure :)

The Finale was a little bit slow at first but I loved it! The ending had me on the edge of my seat, at least we know John is still alive but what about Beth & Casey? Did Jamie know about this? I was thinking the horse was a set up for Rip to be shot or something. I am so sad that we have to wait almost a year for the next season :( I just LOVE this show.

This is why this series is the best show on TV...
Br4ve-trave1or1 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Each season has been building to season 4. We've invested in this worlds characters and care a lot for the endless amount of characters this show offers. I can't remember a show that introduces us to so many intriging people that are beautifully writen with depth.

John obviously survives but of course he couldnt die because it wouldnt have the same effect as Beth dying in that explosion. Believe me. Shes dead. She is the only character that would undo John, especially RIP, and Kayce.

That's why this third season spent so much time on her finally finding happiness and with RIP it was literally a fairy tale love story. But we all know those dont exist.

I'll tell you why it makes sense that RIP goes and visits his mother, talking to her and taking the ring. To show how much his difficult life has changed because hes marrying the woman of his dreams. The one person that knows how to balance him. He loved her witty humor and how much smarter she is than the men she deals with.

When that bomb went off, it started a war with the Duttons and the Indians that it will also effect.

Then we have Jamie. A man, almost brother, that's involved in the attempted killing of his father or man that raised him, his brother, and his sister. It shows what Beth told him. Hes evil.

Though this was an incredible final episode or cliffhanger, I didnt feel like I was cheated because it was an abrupt shocking ending that provides so much content for the fourth season. I'm only angry I binged watched it in a day.

Every fan of this show all love RIP. The fourth is RIPS season to hopefully gain the recognition for his brilliant acting, but let us all see the toughest SOB unleash his rage along with his father figure John and Kayce, who we all know survived that attack.

I'm very confident stating the fourth season will go down as one of the best seasons in TV history. By then hopefully everybody that hadnt discovered this gem will find it and realize why everyone says this is the best series right now.

A fathers revenge. RIPs only happiness in his life: a women that he would die for. Vengeance. A member of the family betraying them and murdering and attempting to murder them all. The Indians. Hopefully we'll see what the Clan Warrior will do.

Best show

The World is Purple
bobcobb30131 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
It is clear they were going for a Dallas-style moment in the final few minutes. Not bad, but they just threw too much at us at once. Roark would not go from playing by the rules to turning into a mob and dishing out multiple hits all in one swoop.

The episode that killed Yellowstone
rob-4917524 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Like all great shows..there is always one episode that puts a show in the ground. This is it. The Walking dead had the Season 6 Finale..Waiting a year to find out who dies. Game of Thrones had the Season 5 Finale where Jon Snow dies. I was hoping Yellowstone would avoid storytelling gimmicks like this...(Shock-value Cliffhangers) or at least wait until season 5 or 6, but no such luck. This once frontier style show that built a reputation on powerful character driven stories takes a left turn with a very slow season ending in an audience insulting, "Who dies?"-style Cliffhanger. "Tune in next year, so you can see the exciting resolution to the only plot introduced this season!" I feel bad for anyone that bought this season on Amazon or iTunes. Surprise, No ending.

Hold your horses, y'all. This was one of the best episodes I've seen in a long, long time! I literally got goosebumps! (So glad I bingewatched so I didn't have to wait for a season to find out what happened!)

So, if you are like me - one of the last people in the country who refused to watch Yellowstone - you are missing a fantastic series with gorgeous scenery, an amazing storyline with characters you love - and love to hate. And of course, there is the amazing Kevin Costner!

Yes it is brutal in places but it will also bring tears to your eyes. Just make sure to have that Kleenex nearby.

Just watch. Giddy up, cowboy!

Long Time Coming

Greetings from Lithuania.

"The World Is Purple", 10th and the last episode of season 3 perfectly closed this season. Yet its being as far from closing as possible. After ending this good, bold and heartbreaking, nothing here but is finished. I won't spoil anything but will only say that this episode was amazing and fast moving, with terrific cliffhanger at the end. The best thing is that I've waited for 4 seasons to end to start watching it, therefore you bet I'm turning next episode in a minute now.

Season Three Review
southdavid12 February 2023
If season two was "Yellowstone's" "Breaking Bad" season, season three is its "Billions" one, as the local gangsters are replaced by a much more insidious and powerful foe, corporate America.

With summer approaching, John (Kevin Costner) makes the decision to camp out with the herd, to help protect them from threats, this gives him a further chance to bond with Tate (Brecken Merrill) and help the boy's recovery from his ordeal. Beth (Kelly Reilly) gets closer to Rip (Cole Hauser) but still finds time to investigate, and mess with, Market Equities and specifically their representative Roarke Morris (Josh Holloway) but the plans that Market Equities have for the ranch, and the valley in general are big, perhaps even too big to resist.

This season does feel like a step up in scale for the show, not only because the opponent for the ranch becomes a seemingly undefeatable corporation, rather than just a guy you can hang from the nearest tree to stop. Josh Holloway is a fun addition as the naturally charming, but ultimately unflinching representative of that company, and though he represents an opponent that can (and I suspect will) be killed. Karen Pittman then arrives as CEO of the company to represent that Market Equities is bigger than just one person.

The family drama hinges for us on a couple of revelations. First, we learn exactly why Beth hates Jamie, and with such vitriol. Then we learn a fact about Jamie himself, one telegraphed a little bit in the episode its revealed in, but otherwise never really hinted at before. This could have major revelations for the show going forward, as his already thin relationship with the rest of his family, looks to be absolutely done. Though this is before the shocking final scenes of the season, and the storyline that they set up.

It is, as was suggested, getting less soapy and more dramatic - though there are still some elements in the rest of the story, Jimmy's relationship/rodeo plot remains a little more like that - though they're almost light relief as they only deal with paralysis, rather than death.

Still enjoying it. On to season four.

A wild episode for sure
BruceWayne322 April 2022
Let's all be honest Beth is the worst She makes things a lot worse for the family

I love that the Indian lady brought up wolves and they are in Montana The gov wants to kill off wolves now in Montana Everyone should vote to get him out of office He's a rat

Dutton could of had Jamie wrapped around his finger for life I'm not sure why he didn't exploit that He instead pushed him away Treated him like garbage

What did Dutton expect Jamie would do?

Of course he would turn his back on him after awhile

The ending was wild Buuuut a little over the top Who is blowing people up over land ?

Come on now.

Warning: Spoilers
Am kinda lost here , seemed it was going somewhere, after the 3rd commercial something finally happened, but before that was like pulling rusty shoes off a horse. Willa calling in the Montana Militia, with the aide of Roarke , pleasing to know the Dutton's should have an explosive fourth season and most probably will be the last one . Oh by the way Jamie do you have jelly filled donuts.

Why a cliffhanger? Not very original
alkaniner24 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Watch 10 episodes for this finale? No real resolution except tribe will file environmental objections. No real explanation why Willa loses job except for vague harassment complaint? And Beth takes over? Kill off Beth, Kacey, and John? Jimmy paralyzed? How does Beth survive such a big bomb blast? John shot numerous times in middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception? Kacey could survive, he protected himself. "Who survives?" cliffhangers no longer original plot line since "Who shot J.R." Makes me less interested for next season because three or four main characters won't be killed off without some convoluted explanation of how they survive.

Which character survives or not I guess depends on which actor will be on board next year or will be having "conflicting schedules".
