As a fun of politics in Star Wars prequels I found some enjoyment here. But I have to admit that at some points the episode gets a bit boring but overall it's alright.

Senate Murders

Despite the idea of the murder mystery being interesting in this context, I think the episode was a big swing and mostly a miss. There was a certain emotional factor to the episode given the identity of the victim, but the investigation that came after felt messy and not entirely thought through. I liked to see Padmé take on more of a commanding presence for once, but the role she was given to carry did not come with any real weight. I also felt that the ending was a bit too unrealistic with the identity of the killer being more anticlimactic than shocking. I was way more interested in the politics of the episode than the main murder plot, so if they had made the political scene of the episode more important to the murder, I think the episode would have been more to my taste.
Political Chess

This is another episode that runs out of the logical order. It should really be viewed after Season 3 Episode 11.
The episode involves continued political shenanigans and a poisoning of one of Padme's closest allies. The idea is that behind the scenes a chess game of politics is pushing any chance of peace away and ensuring the conflict escalates.
It all makes sense when viewed in order and is a sensible, interesting plot background to the war.
Not the most scintillating episode but a very solid one that has a murder mystery element.
My rating: 7.5/10.

Very underrated episode

The Clone Wars isn't loved for what it contributes to Star Wars cannon as a whole, it's the well written side stories based on other genres that enhance the show to be it's best. This episode is a great example of that as it brings a twisting and turning murder mystery to Star Wars and allows you to see characters that you rarely or never encounter again.
